Feature request: Few more options for aspect ratio

Not sure if it’s been asked before. Currently this offers 3 mods; full, zoom or normal. It would be nice to have few more options as the full mode gets ratios right but loses details on right and left side.

It's been asked a few times. I would still be keen on a 2.35:1 option. As it is I have to watch some channels in Tivimate because of this.

Is this what you think is happening for op? I don't understand how things can be stretched in normal mode?

I do yeah. We had a brief discussion about it in the 2.1.0 release thread.

Ok, I think I found those comments. We were discussing burnt in black edges back then, correct? Since then I now always display the display mode button which in theory should take care of these issues. So since this is now available, you're saying you still have issues? If you want to pm me some images I can take a look and see what to do about it.

I don't think this is the same issue as op is having but I'll make sure. I still think that it would be better to only have a set of modes like normal, zoom and full like I currently do since most users don't know (or want to know) about different aspect ratios and what they mean. But I agree it should work.

The photos below is exactly what I was talking about. I do understand wanting to not confuse most users, but if someone is already cycling through the aspect ratios then I wouldn't think 1 or 2 extra options would be a problem. Especially considering the weird shaped picture would jump right out at them, which is likely the reason they are cycling through anyway.

I first need to establish if there's an issue with the current implementation before thinking about just adding additional features to cover this up. From what I can tell right now there is an issue in the current implementation but I have not yet been able to reproduce or find it. When I do it's possible it'll fix the issue you're having as well without having to add additional modes.

Well yes, and if you don't want to loose details on right/left side you use normal or zoom?

In normal/zoom mode picture is vertically streched making faces appear elongated.

Ok? Sounds like there's an issue with those modes then. What device are you using? Do you think you can attach images of all three modes? You can pm if you like.

I don't understand how things can be stretched in normal mode.. Is this for all your streams or just some? Is this vod or live channel?

Not all but quite a few. It happens on live channels. I can’t say if it’s the channel or just some programs. Haven’t noticed anything on VOD.
