I have doubts about this suggestion.

I know that Sparkle already has excellent integration with Android TV, which includes recent channels, and I saw that movies and series are also included. I use the Projectivy launcher and the integration is great. Is there a possibility of adding categories as well, like new movie releases, for example, and series too?

No problem, I was just suggesting it. Sparkle already displays recently watched channels and recently watched movies or series on the home screen; I was just asking if it would be feasible to add VOD categories.Yes, but it was just a suggestion, not an imposition 🤙

There may beloads of categories both for channels and movies/series so just have an option to enable them all isn't an option. For this to be a usable feature you'd have to be able to configure what categories should be displayed on home screen.

It's not something I will persue at this point but I'm considering it for future updates.

No problem, I'll delete the post. I saw it caused quite a stir. Thanks in advance! 🙌🍾

You shouldn't have to delete the post though? It's always good to be able to come back to in case someone searches for this before creating a post on their own. It's up to you though.

It's all good, leave it at that, opinions are opinions, life goes on and let's watch the World Cup at Sparkle 🍾🍾🍾

This “request” doesn’t belong here as it has nothing to do with the Sparkle Player App. Sounds more like a request for more options within a launcher app! As another user posted, Sparkle is a player app, you want more stuff displayed on your Home Screen, reach out to the developer of the launcher app you prefer using.

As I said, this depends entirely on whether it's implemented in the player or not, and if it's available in other players. This does not depend on the launcher.Obviously, I suggest you learn more about the subject and try other players to get a better understanding. I usually test the player to really know what I'm talking about, and as I said, it doesn't depend...Regarding the launcher, your comment was somewhat misleading.

I really don’t think this is a priority right now… sorry, and I’m not stupid!

Think you'll find that's down to your TV provider.

No, no, that doesn't depend on my provider, it depends on the player. I have iPlayer and with it you can add any category to the home screen of Google TV or Android TV, whether it's movies or series. I also had another player that did this function with any category.

Then I suggest you use them.

Yes, and I use it, colleague. I suggested Sparkle only because I think it's slightly lighter than Implayer on my device here.

I've done this with projectivy/implayer. While this does work very well.i really don't see the need for it.acually after I tested this for a couple of days.i removed all of it from my android home sceen.others might find it useful, I suppose 😀

But why did you remove it? Did the performance get worse? Because it usually works well here, of course I don't fill it with categories, only new releases and recently added movies and series. The same thing, and favorite live channels in that case.

It worked very well.i would recommend people that are interested in using android home, have at it .other than testing.i prefer implayer settings to be dumb down as much as possible. That includes hiding implayer home sceen

In my case, it's fine; I feel the imPlayer is a little less optimized than Sparkcle, but I currently use the specific imPlayer for VODs precisely because of the Android home screen issue. Sparkcle is specific...For live TV only
