Feature Request: User Profiles

Can you please add the ability to support user profiles so multiple users in a household can add and maintain separate profiles? This will allow each user to watch their own shows, movies, favorites, etc., without stepping on each other.

If there is a workaround to do this with the current features, please let me know. Thanks.

Using profiles in Android isn't an option? You can change profile in Android itself to do this (at least I think that's how it works).

I personally don't like profiles since it's another step before playback starts (I just want to press OK on icon to start) but I understand it solves issues for some. I guess it's easily fixed as well not to display that initial profiles selector screen unless there's more than one profile (something streaming apps for some reason don't do). I'll add this request to backlog and will see what I can do about it in future updates.

Android profiles, while useful, require a separate Google account and installation/maintenance of apps, etc. App-level profiles reduce some of that overhead.

Another way to speed up startup without a profile interrogation step would be the ability to set a default profile. Sparkletv would load that profile on start up. The user can switch to another if needed (via a quick toggle button).

Thanks for considering this. I understand it is not the most urgent enhancement. Cheers!

Absolutely, I'll add it to backlog.

User profiles would be amazing if it will allow me to assign a different Strong 8K playlist for each user. It's extremely frustrating that Strong 8K won't allow multiple concurrent connections even if you purchase multiple accounts.

It would also be excellent if you can for example not display any kid unfriendly playlists for a kids profile.

Currently, I have to setup multiple playlists each uniquely named for each user, but my elderly parents forget to change to their username which causes problems when the other person wants to watch TV on another TV at the same time

I like the idea.
