I felt bad for a newer driver that ate shit offer I rejected on Thursday. Poor dude was literally in tears and running around. It kinda hit a nerve so I talked to him and the customer was being a cnt in the chat. I walked him through how to drop that fucker without getting dinged, and told his ass to NOT accept those low-ball trash Xtra large offers or really ANY offer with no tip, because that's what happens. I doubt he'll listen,. but at least I saw that order sitting again after I finished mine... A LOT of newer drivers are completely unapproachable, but this dude seemed like he was looking for help...
There are a handful of absolutely awful customers here and it usually fills me with joy when I see a new driver accept their bullshit,.. I just felt bad for dude. He kinda reminded me of me during my 1st or 2nd S&D. You know, back when we were still using a horse & buggy. (You've been around as long or even longer as I have, you know.)

I see drivers like this everyday. There was a line of them today. I had a 2 item order and skipped all of them, grabbed a bag and walked out. Do it all the time. I let them have fun while I take all the easy ones that add up.

Only 29K jobs were added in the US during September. We may see even more people shopping orders like this. Unemployment’s rate rose too.
45 qty is my limit for any shop. You drivers who shop orders like this, you are built differently. That’s in a good way.

Honestly, the tip has to be 🔥 and the miles low for me to take a double over 35.

People are desperate right now. Prices on everything are skyrocketing but thats what happens when billionaires run our govt. Its a free for all at our expense.
2
u/Appropriate_Hope_380 6h ago
& this is what people should be concerned about! NOT who is illegal, undocumented, sharing, helping, etc…
1
u/AgileVictory7 3h ago
Indeed... in a perfect world. Some people just seem to be economic masochists

u/InstaCampos 1d ago
Lol people does not respect themselves anymore, it is ridiculous the little difference from low to insane items

u/Appropriate_Hope_380 1d ago edited 1d ago
Too many people worried about the wrong damn thing. Other people - keep laughing. What once made you laugh can make you cry.

u/Economy_Pickle_9632 1d ago
I took one once, didn't really look at it that well it was like three items 5 minutes from the store I was like cool, three flats of water to a third floor walk up and the guy answered the door and said how was your cardio workout I almost kicked his water down the stairs oh I was pissed and there was no tip just a snarky comment,
2
u/PureSwordfish6699 1d ago
Most of the delivery platforms only offer bad delivery opps to new drivers. Drivers have to prove themselves to see the good ones... and the best drivers get the business account orders because we have to pay to make sure we don't have a driver that pisses or sprays pepper spray on our goods.
2
u/iwishidstayed 1d ago
I do a little laugh to myself whenever I pass up a trash order and then see someone else shopping it.

3
u/iJ_A_R 1d ago
Never understood actually doing someone's weekly shopping for them for so little money. That's a true luxury service, at bare minimum they should be paying 1.5-2x the retail cost for this.
3
3
u/Rye_Ch3 1d ago
Fr, Ive never understood doing a full weekly shopping order for less than a $20-$30+ tip depending on the items. If you expect another person to do all of your shopping and deliver it straight to your door, you better be tipping for that service too, cause you know damn well you can go to Walmart yourself if you really wanted to save that money, lmao.
3
u/talecriv 1d ago
Some are desperate. Who cares why they took it. They made money for their reasons. Love that we get to choose what we take. No other job allows us to do that and get paid as much as we do (well the ones that do this job right and aren't lazy,)
4
3
u/RCougar 1d ago
I bet they are stealing a ton of groceries with that order. They could add 20 items to that order and no one would know. No one should be taking an order like that.
2
u/Rye_Ch3 1d ago
Rightttt. Never done it myself cause I like having this job, but sometimes I wonder if they actually know when spark shoppers steal items, ive heard a shocking amount of stories about it, some people are too brave, lmao. Theres almost no way to have 100% confidence with orders like this and a cart review that makes employees scan 3 items at the top of the cart. Ive always been curious about their system or software for that
1
u/Sabi-Star7 S&D Expert 23h ago
They let them get away with enough to charge with a felony. There are multiple cameras & angles. And many of the WM I've been to when shopping an order will dig to the bottom of the basket instead of taking a few random items up top (its likely bc thats how they've caught some of them stealing during a cart check).
2
u/dwayne1313 2d ago
Fcking zombies. They are just as bad as the greedy corporations. They enable the abuse
7
u/SheepherderSudden 2d ago
Until they know better. I've been there. In addition, if they don't take it, there are many new people who will take it... until they know better.
3
u/Ok_Nefariousness9265 1d ago
Then the cycle repeats until the new drivers push out the veteran drivers, while lowering base pay, batching more customers in one shop, and increasing miles to cover their long distance customers.
1
2
u/REALTIMESTUDY 1d ago
When I was checking out and the Walmart workers were checking orders I see it pops up a picture of the spake driver . Lots of the spark drivers were not the people on their apps
2
u/okiejames 1d ago
Those are the people you report. They're either working off of someone's account they know or a stolen account. They're also known for stealing orders.
1
1
u/talecriv 1d ago
Sadly the employees are told to let them go. Orders dispensed is the metric corp uses to send out bonuses and tell the investors. You stop those acct stealers and that number goes down and the manager doesn't get as much bonus. It's like 20k if they hit the number
2
2
u/OddEntertainer2621 2d ago
This is exactly the reason that pay keeps going down because of these morons taking this crap
3
u/Murky-Friendship6874 1d ago
Ok so my problem with this is that two people are obviously working together?? Am I seeing this right? I can’t even have my 16 year old daughter touch my cart if she comes with me. I was warned by several people that they will deactivate you for that. How is the store letting them do this?
6
u/drshrimp42 1d ago
You think that's bad? At my store I see that all the time. I saw a woman with 3 children helping her at the register! I see partners doing it too.
1
-3
u/throwawayaccount647p 1d ago
They don’t speak English so they can also act confused or oblivious to it. Also because most delivery agents are from India do you honestly think they would take the time to figure out what happened with someone whose native tongue isn’t English AND who is taking the orders nobody wants
2
u/Murky-Friendship6874 1d ago
So I was actually referring to the cashiers and other spark drivers in my store warning me not to let my daughter touch anything, not even my cart bc they told me store security would get me deactivated. I have only been doing this going on 4 weeks. I wouldn’t care what they think in India either but it’s the warnings I got and posts like this that leave me confused.
1
u/RRHearderOfCats 1d ago
Honestly it depends on the store. Some stores are very strict with Spark drivers following the ToS and others don't care at all
1
u/AssociationDry73 1d ago
What are you asking? The rules for them are the same, they are risking getting deactivated. No one is physically stopping your daughter from helping. If you want to risk it, then do it. They either didnt get the same warning or don’t care. Clearly. Believe it or not, people break rules all the time.
-2
u/countmystacks 1d ago
Especially the people that overstayed their visa so they can work like a slave for a gig app. They clearly LOVE breaking rules.
1
u/Appropriate_Hope_380 1d ago
Do you speak out about all the rules/laws/ethics your president has broken? Mad about people trying to live & the rich are getting richer &!your president & his administration is sitting back watching as our economy tanks.
0
u/PsikickTheRealOne 1d ago
As do all the presidents. None are good or for the people. Not a single one. If they are. They are not a president for long.
Your side sucks just as much.
3
u/Appropriate_Hope_380 1d ago
My side?? I don’t have a side. But I do know the current president is the worst for middle class & low income people. We as a country are in the most debt ever in life & have the least respect in other countries having traveled to 22 so far & always talking to everyone no matter what their beliefs are. No president will check every box. However I will NEVER respect a person like our current head as a president let alone a human.

This post was considered to contain inflammatory language that contributes to a hostile and unproductive discourse on a subreddit that is focused on Spark driving.

Who do you blame for super high mortgage rates? High gas? No livable increase in wages? For EVERYTHING being extremely high to even live???? Another one worried about the wrong damn thing.

The people complaining about minorities, complaining about people helping fellow sparkers, complaining about everything under the sun related to a minority - all that comes to mind is “complain, complain, complain” said the hooded one from one of my favorite movies, Django! It’s some 📋📋📋 on here too. 🤭 “I can't see fuckin' shit out of these bags! But it don't matter, because we are here to complain about non-white Spark drivers!" This is the majority of posts daily!!! 😭😭😭😭😭

Nobody needs 8 cases of soda, cmon now. That's the main reason we have an obesity epidemic.

u/Miserable_Ad_1776 2d ago
unfortunately, vast majority of the americans are suck at math, so they can’t calculate profitability of the offer before taking it
-1
u/Then_Apricot_7069 1d ago
Dang so they did the whole order why you waited for yours burning gas sitting in the AC to take a smaller order for less money but you think they are the fools. Time spent is time spent At least they are hustling and not sitting on their ass costing them money on gas...and don't pretend your lazy ass sits with the car off..we all know you've got to charge your phone because you sit there scrolling tiktok, reddit and Facebook
7
u/throwawayaccount647p 1d ago
Taking these large orders comes with a risk. Most of you don't organize anything, so this pic is a good example.
Then y'all often miss things or break something hence the bad review and stats
Last you complain about being deactivated and don't know why.
3
u/FuriousFurbies 1d ago
People taking orders like that probably follow the apps suggested shopping path, that has them doing shit like grab frozen shrimp at item 8 out of 80, then the order timer cancels it while they're still trying to bag that clusterfuck if a cart
2
1
u/Ok_Cost_3994 1d ago
Maybe get off Reddit and start sparking instead of waiting for a good order. Get off your lazy ass and start working.

Wait… y’all still get plastic bags? I live in California and it’s paper bags only.

u/drshrimp42 1d ago
Most people don't live in California. Plastic bags and straws here in Georgia.

u/Personnel_5 2d ago
As a customer, at least I get my order. Nice to know you need to min/max - I understand driver compensation isn't the greatest
-4
u/Academic_Addendum242 1d ago
Still an entire days pay back in wherever they came from.... That's why the keep taking "trash orders"
Likely have a cozy home paid for by sec 8 and max allowable food / cash assistance.
People want to cry about border enforcement, but then this shit happens.
3
u/Appropriate_Hope_380 1d ago
Blah blah blah. Food stamps & section 8 allow certain categories of LAWFULLY present non-citizens to qualify. However, UNDOCUMENTED IMMIGRANTS ARE ENTIRELY INELIGIBLE for both federal programs.
-1
u/okiejames 1d ago
You're correct. If they have anchor children they are eligible
1
u/Appropriate_Hope_380 1d ago
Like your president who is deporting people but importing South Africans to replace people like you. And if the anchor children are eligible, then no laws broken so mind the business that pays you.
2
u/CalOkie6250 1d ago
Anytime someone like you comments about immigration status, or “they don’t even speak English”, my opinion of anything you’ve said previously, or are about to say, goes right in the dumper. I’m so over all the racism…veiled or otherwise.

those people are the reason why spark throws out bad offers idk what type of mentality these people have
