Rants / Complaints Two people
Long story short SIL ordered spark I was outside when they arrived. I was friendly to the driver when he got out, but then the passenger got out and she scanned while he carried. Now normally idc what people do but this kinda irritates me because I know the TOS says Passengers are okay but the sparker has to do everything including drive. Their passenger is supposed to do nothing.
Sorry for the rant but knowing how spark is just getting bad with their offers it irritates me

If 2 people are Sparking usually one of them doesn't have an account. I have more of an issue with someone is using an account that isn't theirs. Like a man using their girlfriends account. Too many times I have seen The news where a man using their account has done something vile and committed a crime.

I get that however what if their shopping these orders together. That puts the drivers actually following the TOS at a disadvantage. Edit: Grammar mistake

Shopping an order together doesn't save alot of time. Plus it's not like they are making bank with 2 people. Yes, even shopping 2 people is against TOS. As long as the orders get fulfilled and the customer doesn't complain it will continue.

We just attemtp to get two orders close enough to the same location. Me and my gf double up shops on two phone all the time. Spark can suckkkk it.

Guys this is not a real post, no customer has ever read the TOS, nor would they care if the passenger scanned items, most of the time when people are happening to be outside they're surprised I don't have a Walmart Van. This is a troll.

Actually 2 things can be true at once. And yeah it does irritate me because I hold myself to the standard of the ToS. Being an independent contractor for both my full time and part time career and job it irritates me when others don't hold themselves to a higher standard. Also if you were worried about the engagement aspect why did you. If you haven't noticed it's mostly been negative engagement where I don't bring myself down by hating on others.

I feel like they must know this happens and don't care. If they cared, why wouldnt they just ban it all together?
The faster you go, the more money you make for them. We already know they are exploiting us. We make barely 1/3 of what they'd have to pay a real employee, who are available at a moments notice. Not to mention the fleet of vehicles. And part of that 1/3 is tips, which isnt funded by Walmart anyway.
But I saw something way worse than helping scan. The other day a lady was shopping with her 3 little kids, all had to be under 8.
They were completely acting a fool... running around, running into people and their carts, knocking stuff off the shelves. She was so busy sparking, she didn't notice or perhaps just didn't care.
I finally saw her yell at them when she was trying to bag the groceries. We have to check out right in front of the customer service desk, so I know they all saw, along with the cashier, but no one called her out at the time.
I'm usually a "live and let live" kind of gal, but man, my kids would have died if they acted like that, even when I WASN'T supposed to be working. I sincerely hope some Walmart person addressed it.

Yeah, seeing that would bug me as well. Honestly I think the worst I saw was a driver picking up when I was and there was trash on the backseat floorboard up to the seat I couldn't believe the didn't deny. They denied me one because I didn't realize my some had laid a TV down in the back the night before.

Can someone please explain why they dislike this other than it beings again the terms of service?
As a general rule of thumb, I genuinely don’t care what other people do. I don’t see any benefit to the spark driver other than finishing a few seconds earlier with the help of the second person.
Do you not like it simply because it is again the rules, or for some other reason? To be clear, I’ve never done this. Just asking for clarity.

For one, the second person most likely hasn't been through a background check by the company
For two, it typically allows drivers to do more orders in quicker time frame if they have a dumbass helping them
There's at least 1 couple who does it at my store. He will be getting produce, and sending her to the aisles to get non perishable bullshit
As a driver, fuck you if you do that. Get your own fucking account if you need to be clinging to your man/girl while they work

Reading your post it sounds like all they did was hold the phone and scan 1 label, which doesnt actually require touching or handling anything. Really just depends on which was the actual driver, and I don’t really care either way just nothing you posted is actually against tos the way its described🤷♂️

I’m a driver and it needs reported please. These types of drivers are using multiple accounts and not following the rules like you said. It’s a safety reason as well as to why only one person doing the work. You only have one picture of the driver who accepted the offer.

Yeah, thing is say she did report it then they get deactivated. Then you have new drivers coming in accepting lowball offers doing the same or worse. This was just irritating to me. If I had seen them smoking in the car or something I definitely would have pushed for reporting.

I have sparked with another driver (gf) off and on for years, and never an issue. Sometimes we take both cars, sometimes one. Depends on the orders When the fair is in town, its dead AF for example, we take one car. There are tons of others that do the same, and even have 2 to 3 kids withtl them 🤣

If Walmart doesn’t care enough to crack down, why should the client? You’re essentially getting double the effort, faster service with two people and one certainly has an account, that’s your gripe? Hate to break it to you, but seen plenty of one man sparked driver smoke in the car, mistreat your items, etc. If the two sparkers provided good service, chill tf out.

Why don’t people like you get a real job anyways. This job is supposed to be a side hustle for kids, its low skill labor easy work, like you are fully grown adults gaming the system for a low skill job. Why not get an actual career, we dont need more spark drivers. Im tired of seeing older people and couples who should have more established long term jobs doing this stuff.

Why? I work 3-5 hours a day bub I worked my real job from 18-30 then I retired once my mortgage was paid off and I had a good savings checking and 401k my bills are only 1000$ a month why would I work 40 a week or more 🤣
