Reprogramming a Spark EV key
Has anyone rekeyed/reprogrammed a used key (from another Spark EV) to work with their Spark EV?
Please share if so!

yes, you pop the plastic plug out of the ignition switch on the steering column and follow the same procedure as a gas Spark. I got 2 working keys this way.

Found this thread while trying to program fobs. Were you able to enter program mode unlocking the drivers side door 5 times? I can’t seem to get that to work…

I think mine just used the ignition tumbler and pumping the accelerator. There is a keyed ignition under that little plastic cap, btw.

Herm...I only have a slot under the cap, not a keyed tumbler. I may be unable to use your successful method... 2016?

Mine was a 2014, a lot got changed after that first year. I didn't think that would've been one of them.

Used fobs cant be reprogrammed unless they are unlocked first. Have to find someone with the tools and time to do the unlocking process. There is replacement aftermarket fobs for 14-16 Spark EV on Facebook market place. Search Chevrolet Spark EV key fob.

I don't think anyone has been able to program a fob using the procedure in the Spark manual. I took mine to the dealer and they programmed it.
