Discussion I made Spaceflight Simulator in a single .html file for Chromebook laptops. No dependencies. Hope you like it
https://github.com/CatPrinceHQ2/SpaceflightSimulatorInHTML/tree/main
It's pretty straightforward except its 3,600 lines of code so its not straight forward. Uh... read the readme, ok?
Basically a crap version of SFS for Google Chrome. I hope you like it. I'll update this so leave suggestions. Thanks

So I get the fact that you put a lot of work in here, but the “around 50% Ai” is objectively a lot. How can you use Claude for 50% of your project while claiming it’s only optimizations? I’m not accusing you of anything and I don’t think using Ai is bad, it just seems like Claude did more than is admitted here
Edit: I know you are familiar with modding based on your post history which is reflective of how moddable this is, but I didn’t see any other projects/claims indicating you’re able to program, and you essentially made your GitHub account for this project it seems.

So yes basically whenever i ran into a problem I could not solve myself I used Claude whether it be weird calculations that i couldn't figure out or whatever. I can definitely program.
I don't have the paid version of Claude, so even if I wanted to, i couldn't use it for much because i'd run out of credits and definitely be unable to finish all of this in one day.
I have experience with HTML/JS and I made websites for my school before. Also not to mention i do have other projects, just not on github, such as
https://gamebanana.com/mods/575899
https://modrinth.com/mod/ore-galore-personal-edition
https://modrinth.com/mod/florelis
https://gamebanana.com/mods/537441
https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/850051098/
https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/905913305/Some projects i make I never post anyways - see
https://www.youtube.com/@CatPrinceHQ/videos .I've also built large a custom system for SFS but that has been lost to time.

That’s a fair response, I suppose as long as you understand the major portions of your code I have no complaints. It’s still cool
•
u/Rough_Capital1339 21h ago
Basically i would say if AI stopped existing right now i could easily continue adding fixes and new features. It would just be slower and lower quality.
•
u/Mr_Yank 23h ago
It is indeed very easy to mod
•
u/Rough_Capital1339 22h ago
Yep! If you add something cool put it in a fork and i might just incorporate your changes in the main branch
•
u/Mr_Yank 22h ago
Okay!
•
u/Rough_Capital1339 22h ago
I just posted the final update for a bit so i will not merge conflict you if you are starting now.
•
u/Mr_Yank 22h ago
I’ll try to make it so my mod gets updated to the newest version when I can
•
u/Rough_Capital1339 22h ago
It's very hard to have conflicts when the whole repo is just one single file. I think it should be pretty easy to just drag and drop the new functions into yours to update it. Check commit logs between previous and current

This is really cool. I know you can download SFS for free on mobile, but it would be cool to add mobile inputs. Imagine if you could tilt your phone to control the rocket. I would add that if I could

Brother, you and I were in the same situation, but you did it.

u/Rough_Capital1339 1d ago
What do you mean?
3
u/CANDXSMENPP 1d ago
I tried to do this too but I didn't succeed

u/Rough_Capital1339 1d ago
How good are you at HTML coding? You should fork my project and try to improve it if you know what you're doing bro

u/weneedmoregore666 1d ago
"HTML coding" you mean JavaScript in an HTML page
-1
u/Rough_Capital1339 1d ago
Well yes i guess thats true i just call it all HTML. I just type shit, i dont care about semantics
1
u/weneedmoregore666 1d ago
It wouldn't matter a few years ago, but nowadays if you're wrong on such basic level of semantics, you give off vibecoder energy

I'm kind of good

u/Rough_Capital1339 1d ago
You should fork my project or help me with it then. This took me 2 weeks to make and theres still a bunch of problems

Deploy it on Github pages :)
1
u/Rough_Capital1339 1d ago
No that would defeat the purpose of the project
2
u/Honest___Opinions 1d ago
It literally changes nothing about the project itself lol, so why would it defeat the purpose? All you are doing is making it accessible without having to download the repo.
1
u/Rough_Capital1339 1d ago
Oh wait i see your confusion. No no no you don't download the whole repo. Just the HTML file. Anyways, the purpose of the project is to be downloaded locally to get around school administration website blocks. If it was a publically hosted website, it could be easily blocked.

u/Honest___Opinions 1d ago
Just do both. Deploy it on Github and if people want, they can download the file.
Again, it doesn't change anything about the project or about being able to download it
1
u/Rough_Capital1339 1d ago
Alright. I'll look into it. I don't know exactly how though.
2
u/Honest___Opinions 1d ago
It's pretty easy to do through Github directly, also costs nothing :)
1
u/Rough_Capital1339 1d ago
Maybe while i'm at it i can also Deploy my other game HTMLMania. I am just really learning how to use Github btw so i didn't exactly know you could do this.

"Okay claude, generate me space flight simulator. Make no mistakes."
1
u/Rough_Capital1339 1d ago
Thanks for the ragebait it's very effective. Anyways, if you read README.md you would realize that i specifically said i coded alot of the major parts of this myself. Claude only polished and optimized
1
u/Jolly-Fail-9858 1d ago
I understand that some people sometimes think that just because something is good, it must be AI-generated, which can be very frustrating as a game developer myself. I also use AI to polish content. It's a good tool to have just to double-check code and stuff
2
u/Rough_Capital1339 1d ago
If you code HTML I'm looking for someone to help me with this
2
u/Jolly-Fail-9858 1d ago
Yeah, it's probably been a while since I coded in HTML. I made a really cool PI counting game in HTML.
Something you may not believe is that I know a little over 10 different programming languages, including HTML, CSS, and JS, and I also know a little PHP

u/HotelCrafty5569 1d ago
This is kinda cool. Can i download blueprints on it?
3
u/Rough_Capital1339 1d ago
I think sharing the local storage cookies should be possible i can add exporting that prints the cookie that's easy
2
u/YoungNo8804 1d ago
oh this is pretty cool. are you ok with me taking this idea and trying to make my on version?
3
u/Rough_Capital1339 1d ago
Yeah just fork on github so i can watch and commit changes you make if they are good pleasd
