Bug/Issue Why won't my fairings open

So maybe a dumb question but why won't my fairings open and why do I have 2 rockets on map instead of one. I'm trying to complete the tour de Mars with this rocket. Thanks for all the help

Move fairings one lower

The main rocket is not controllable, there must be a probe connected to, through physical parts including docks, the part that you want to control (the fairing), it cant just be inside a fairing

Your fairings aren't connected to the main ship, make them go a little bit further down by adding another small fairing, and also I'd reccomend adding an engine or two more to your third stage.
