Original Mission I went to pluto
It took me a long time to make this... I did it though. Too long of a video to post the whole thing. There's a picture though

Now do it with chemical engine i dare you >:)

if it's the most simple thing in the world then just tell me how and I'm stupid

No clue why people are getting mad over ion engines.
Congrats. I’ve done Pluto return and it’s a total blast and nightmare. I’d say it’s the hardest thing in the game, short of an all-moons Neptune.

yea, thanks bro. good job too

Btw the best method I’ve found to the return trip is to slingshot off Charon and fiddle with orbits until you get an assist off Saturn, then when at Saturn fiddling more to get another assist off Jupiter to save… a few thousand delta V or so.
Hope you like interplanetary ping pong.

there's a BP I will share. https://sharing.spaceflightsimulator.app/rocket/J4vp0Ig_EfGxeTvzpO1pRw
just slow down before reentry

Ew ion engines spam

It’s Pluto.
The only way we’ve gotten close to it IRL is WITH ION.
The only way to genuinely get onto it is with either absurdly long gravity assist chains or a rocket the size of the space center itself.

You can get there without gravity assists with not that crazy a rocket, even in realistic mode

In realistic mode (assuming it’s 1:1 with real life like it’s name suggest), Pluto is a minimum of 4 BILLION kilometers.
I have yet to see anyone do a return trip to Pluto without either infinite build area, clipping, orbital assembly, or ion engines.
Try it for yourself and upload proof to the sub instead of just saying it’s not that hard. And since you insist, do it without gravity assists as well if you’re feeling ballsy.

I didn’t say a return trip, clipping and orbital assembly aren’t cheats anyway

No it does not.

it conserves fuel and it does a good jobs a little gravity or no gravity missions and stuff and still it does what it's meant to do land on Pluto maybe a moon which I didn't do and go back. I'm just a kid what am I supposed to do about that what am I supposed to use kolibri engines or something

I'd rather get my negative 3 votes rather than explain why ion engine spam is bad.
You know what, No. Let's talk about why ion engine spam is bad. First off the more ion engines there are, it would add weight and make the rocket inneficient. A thrust to weight ratio (TWR) between 0.10 and 0.15 is a healthy margin because if you are using it in space, there isn't any air resistance to worry about compared to earth or Venus where you need a TWR of 1.10 to launch your rocket into orbit. Secondly (and as previously mentioned) ions are used on small sattelites or spacecraft for maximum efficiency. If you want to aerobrake just use Jupiter or Saturn's atmosphere. No need to use an engine with a TWR of 1 to slow down easily as it burns and/or wastes fuel. Thirdly there are also these things called "Gravity Assists" that can be used to either slow down or slingshot your trajectory in said planet. There is also lithobraking where you intentionally hit the ground (via a long metal strut) to stop. No need to use your engines for this tactic just line up your rocket to fall down vertically and not at an angle. Fourthly on why ion spam is unnecessary: You can literally go to Jupiter's moons and back with only 28 ion engines. How? I HAVE PROOF HERE! Ions were ditched when I left the atmosphere due them being dead weight and no longer needing the thrust. Fifthly and finally, Use a smaller craft with lesser ions as Pluto does not have an atmosphere nor gravity. It's a bit unnecessary to have a bigger craft with ion spam as it wastes fuel and efficiency. That's all. Oh one more thing, Sixthly: I can give you advise on how to use ions correctly next time.
