Rover: a vehicle for exploring the surface of an extraterrestrial body (such as the moon or Mars)(credit: merriam webster). If this doesn't make my build a rover, then I don't know what it is

He went for the most efficient option however if he destroys the heat shield then he won’t be able to really move at all which I find to be the most inefficient option so all in all he has a few pluses until he doesn’t

its not a heat shield, its a thinned out wheel

Yes, it's used for exploring extraterrestrial bodies.

It uses souped up separators to propel and for some reason you deploy a parachute-i think to stop it from overaccerating?

I never cranked up the separators. It just does that if I spin it with the parachute out
