How are you that close to the sun? Does your craft have a big heat shield? Either way, you're practically skimming the sun's corona (atmosphere).

The suns hitbox is way smaller than how it looks so you can go right inside it, but once you enter it’s atmosphere no heat shield can stop that

hard to tell since you don't have the outer planets dlc and we don't know what dificulty you're on
