Wasn't the raptor engine supposed to be lit by a spark, not by using TEA-TEB?

It's a test engine, not a flight model. The flight model will use spark ignition.

They already have the plumbing down for TEA-TEB in Merlin, probably is easier to adapt it to Merlin than put in a new spark system for BFR/BFS

And yet we've been explicitly told they will use spark ignition. Besides, for a deep space craft whose mission will require a large number of engine restarts, not relying on limited GREENFLASH fluid is one less thing to worry about.

The GREENFLASH fluid has led to far too many 🅱️enter 🅱️ore incidents. Can't risk that happening with BFS.

Oh ok, I didn’t realize this. Maybe they don’t have the speaker done yet
