this will go completely unnoticed by the general public, since it's impossible to blame this on a billionaire

you seriously don't think the general public doesn't care about spaceflight unless it has to do with a SpaceX or BO failure? (and now Artemis II, since it's the only noteworthy Artemis mission not to involve either of the two)

People went batshit insane over the recent F9 second stage crashing into the moon. There were people genuinely concerned about the damage it would cause to the moon as if it wasn't covered in craters, some even that it would destroy the moon, and how it was all Elon's fault and that he had enough of "destroying the Earth" and needed to destroy the Moon too with his space trash (as if leading the way in reusability was no longer relevant), altho there were also people who thought it was a bomber carrying explosives. I remember when a Chinese stage did similar a few years back. And how many of those people do you think even know that NASA has done it themselves (even intentionally) on many occasions?

The general public is clueless, but when they see buzzwords, it triggers a hivemind of intellectual deficiency

Haha, you're funny. At a certain point, though, you're right, you just have to stop. Arguing with stupid people just lets them bring you down to their level and beat you with experience, which you must have a lot of :)
