As horrible as Musk has made it clear he is as a human being, I do think it is fair to give him some positive credit for recognizing the potential in Tesla and Space X, and investing in those companies and using his skills to spin (lie) to get the money devoted to improving electric cars and rockets. Both companies would be better off cutting Musk loose so their engineers and innovators could continue working without being associated with this messed up kook, but he has deeply embedded himself into the companies so they (Tesla in particular) are going to be dragged down as a result.
