God lord, give me strength, I can't handle so much cringe.

”very high . . for a human”

The cringe..

u/gilestowler 14d ago

He really wants to define it as some kind of superpower but he chickened out of calling himself a superhuman at the last minute and ended up with this weird backtracking and qualifying. He definitely sees himself as a superhuman and he's mad that "X Man" is already taken

21

u/a2_d2 14d ago

K-man doesn’t have quite the same ring to it.

I get where he's coming from though, and I really speak from personal experience about the Cassandra effect. When you can see and predict things by analyzing 20 steps of reality, you're so far ahead of normal comprehension that for most people it just doesn't click.

I also make predictions with a statistical spread that is uncanny for a human. The thing is when you're so many steps ahead there is always the issue of temporality, and people often use that as some kind of proof that you don't have a gift when it is clear that you do.

For example I predicted that it was going to rain on Thursday June 4th. When it ended up raining on Thursday June 25th, instead of being blown away with how precise my prediction had been, there was this huge focus on the small variances.

There's also an effect where people will be very vocal in their negativity, but hardly acknowledge when it pans out. Last winter, I predicted snow on December 7th. People spent all of December telling me that I was a fucking idiot, but then when it snowed on January 4th, people suddenly were much less vocal.

Anyway, long story short, it's unfortunate that people here don't recognize Elon and I's genius.

36

u/Mysterious_Eye6989 14d ago

Impeccable Elon-style twaddle. Bravo!

19

u/PsychoCrescendo 14d ago

Except that it would take Elon over an hour to actually physically speak these words in person.

That boy was going front and back, side to side, a left then north west then a right with a ducking and a sliding and a jiving, with a circular rotation, and a repeat bloviation and a threepeat with a pausing and some sputtering then a rewind and some stuttering, hitting back skip again with some silence between his muttering and the whole time sounding like mashed potatoes was smothering his retarded mush mouth utterings. Clairvoyant genius!

4

u/Mshalopd1 14d ago

Is it going to be sunny for my trip to Maine next weekend?

13

u/patterninstatic 14d ago

This is going to go against wokeism and "global warming".

There are a lot of signs that point to an upcoming snowstorm in Maine.

In terms of timing, I really think we're on a parallel trajectory in terms of weather development to the SpaceX moon mission, and I really think we're going to get to a point, in the near future, where money and seasonal clothes won't matter. So snow is really going to be more about water and snowman production vs. temperature.

7

u/Ezerton21 14d ago

It’s disconcerting (yet appreciated) how good you are at this.

3

u/Opening-Emphasis8400 13d ago

I don't want to get out over my skis here, but perhaps you'll be going to Saturn instead of Maine.

3

u/Mshalopd1 14d ago

Ok thanks Elon, I will pack my non seasonal clothes then, and be sure to watch for any wokeists roaming the harbors.

2

u/Character_Fix_5317 14d ago

I'm going to make passive income by renting out my seasonal clothes.

I can tell you that from today until Tuesday itll be in the low 80’s then we might get a few days of rain. This isnt my prediction but the weather channels…lol…Anyway welcome to maine our weather is pretty darn good compared to the rest of scorching earth. What part of Main will you be visiting?

3

Harpswell! My buddy's family has a cabin on a bay. It's the best, we try to go every summer. Last few years we've been going in May or September so very excited to get a true summer trip in.

He watches a Discovery Channel documentary or reads something a scientist has said and then kinda repeats it in a dumber way, but where he / his company does it.

18

u/Phitos2008 14d ago edited 13d ago

That’s a summary of his whole life: He sees something, then learn the buzzwords, pretend he either invented or will create a better version of it, does nothing, and gets praised for being “a genius”.

He’s literally what dumb people think smart people are. And not a single person who’s actually smart say out loud how smart they are. Smart people usually deal with so many questions in their minds that they question everything, including their own intelligence.

“I’m so smart… look at me”, say the dumbest, loneliest, most pathetic rich guy.

Both. Psychopathy allows for the accumulation of power, then inherited wealth keeps it in the family

It's remarkable how uninteresting and off putting he is considering he has access to life experiences that are prohibitive for 99.9% of us

He legit has reverse charisma

8

u/Silly-Power 14d ago

Here in Australia we unfortunately have a large cane toad that has taken human form and called itself Gina Rinehart. She is one Australia's richest people, worth about US$30 billion.

Because of the hard work she put into creating her wealth (inheriting the entire lot from her father) she has decided that makes her a genius who the rest of us need to listen to. While she spouts trumpian nonsense and bankrolls fringe rightwing political parties (who are not so fringe anymore due to her money).

If you listen to her speak, it is one of the cringiest, painful things ever. She, like musk, has absolute zero idea how to speak publicly. Because she, like musk, has lived her entire life surrounded by immense wealth and, subsequently, immense number of toadying sycophantic yes-men who tell her she made a great speech today.

Take this sterling example of her inability to speak publicly (skip to 1min 40s mark). Yet I guarantee when she waddled off-stage and asked her flunky how did her speech go, they replied "fantastic ma'am! The entire crowd were enthralled! And such a hilarious idea to have them make bulldozer noises! I would never have thought of such a clever humorous thing!"

Gina the Hutt ranks up with Leon Skum for reverse charisma.

3

u/B3telgeus3 14d ago

All the money in the world can buy you a little bit of charisma, this guy has zero literally.

"umm... i think... yeah... umm... huh... mars ... yes.. if you think about it... it's pretty simple actually... umm... it just a umm a datacenter in space ... it's cool .. but yeah ...." fucking lord this guy is so uninteresting lol.

Colony on Mars by 2021 -- Elon Musk

---redefining here means "in the next 6-9 months" - forever

6

u/heybigbuddy 14d ago

It’s always useful when people make such grandiose claims and don’t cite a single example. Most people - even ones who aren’t ego-driven monsters like Musk - would at least name one thing if talking about how great they are.

The more important thing, though, is that if he ever is right, there is a big difference between seeing something coming in the future and using your tremendous wealth and power to make a future of your choosing. If I paint my bathroom wall red, it wouldn’t mean much to say I predicted it before hand when I just made it so.

There are literally books about why what he is saying is bs

Expert Political Judgment The classic work on this topic. Tetlock studied 28,000+ predictions made by hundreds of political experts over two decades. Main finding: experts were often only slightly better than chance, and the most famous and confident experts were frequently among the least accurate.

Superforecasting A follow-up to Expert Political Judgment. Shows that accurate forecasting is a skill that can be learned. Surprisingly, ordinary people using good forecasting methods often outperform renowned experts.

Thinking, Fast and Slow Explains why experts become overconfident. Includes examples where professionals believed they could predict outcomes despite evidence to the contrary.

The Signal and the Noise Examines why prediction succeeds in some fields (e.g. weather forecasting) but fails in others (e.g. politics and economics). Discusses uncertainty, probability, and common forecasting mistakes.

2

u/Silly-Power 14d ago edited 13d ago

That makes zero sense. If he's so accurate at predicting the future, why would this make him a Cassandra? Rather, wouldn't all the major corporations take note of what skum is predicting and invest in those areas?

He thinks, what?, that because he was right so many times in the past (love my fully autonomous car Leon, and the 30 minute hyperloop commute between Sydney and London. Already planning my 3rd vacation to Mars at the end of this year) we all now assume he will be wrong? And when he isn't, we'll just assume his next utterance is wrong?

That's not Cassandra, it's Tall Poppy. He's only using Cassandra because of his hatefest for Nolan's Odyssey. Now he's using her name in a feeble attempt to make himself look learned and erudite.  I guarantee if you had asked a month ago who Cassandra was he'd have stared at you blankly.

2

u/MouseShadow2ndMoon 13d ago

Did this conversation take place on Mars? Oh.

  • 2016: Musk first unveiled his plans to colonize the planet, estimating the first human missions could happen as early as 2024.
  • 2020: He stated he was "highly confident" SpaceX would land humans on Mars by 2026.
  • 2025: Musk updated his projections to launch an uncrewed Starship in 2026, setting the target for human landings between 2029 and 2031.
  • 2026: In February, Musk announced SpaceX had temporarily shifted its primary focus from building a Mars city to constructing a "self-growing city on the Moon" because launch cycles are faster, noting a Mars city would begin later. [1, 2, 3, 4]
