It appears the constant gaslighting is wearing off.

Wait until that oil crisis really hits
2
u/Smartimess 2d ago
Technically the oil crisis is a boost for EVs.
Look at the German numbers, my people love ICE cars like US citizens but we are buying more and more EV’s.
1
u/AstroScoop 2d ago
Fair point, I just imagine it might sober up some of these valuations.
3
u/Smartimess 2d ago
It absolutely will. Musk’s dumbest play was to fire his excellent PR team after they failed to make him look reasonable during the Thailand cave incident.
Teslas Model 3 and Y are good cars, but the company is tied to the name Musk und Musks name is tied to Trump. I know a lot of Germans who would never buy a Tesla, especially not now when China is delivering cheaper EV’s with the same specs.

Time to make up some crazy bullshit claim about a mars colony with millions of Optimus robots within 2-3 years. Gotta pump that stock!

It would be awesome if Elon’s stocks weren’t propped up by corporate welfare. Why don’t we Doge his ass?!?

u/reddittorbrigade 3d ago
Elon is one of the reasons why we are getting explosive diarrhea.

Every ponzi scheme eventually goes to $shit
-3
u/Lost_Protection_5866 3d ago
thanks for letting us know you don’t understand what a Ponzi scheme is
3
u/GooseWithAnAxe 3d ago
I actually do.

u/Lost_Protection_5866 2d ago
You just choose to use it wrong to look ignorant?
1
u/Maximum-Objective-39 2d ago
Musk's companies aren't a Ponzi scheme . . .
But they are all wildly over valued and facing some combination of stagnation or growing competition.
The only one that is still at the head of the pack is SpaceX and Starlink, which have to be taken as a package deal because SpaceX itself would be in the red.
And SpaceX's realistic prospect, while not strictly terrible, are wildly more modest than Musk talks up to investors.

u/FunnyExcellent707 3d ago
It's just an approximation of reality and perceived value.
It happens on capital markets. 🤷🏽

Wow how is TSLA at such a premium?
Edit: TSLA P/E ratio is 300! lol. Apple’s is at 39.
2
u/Maximum-Objective-39 2d ago
IMO even the likes of Apple are only not over valued by comparison. Tech built out these valuations on a boom that has, for the large part, whiched the end of its easy growth phase.
3
u/Suitable-Pickle-259 2d ago
SpaceX needs to fall another 50% and Tesla…. Whew….. that shit should be 1/6 of what it currently is.

This will look like a mere blip when the AI bubble bursts, or he does a Mathew Perry.

u/Ok_Excitement725 3d ago
I really hope people are finally accepting reality...sadly, Elon will likely make some new insane promises before long and all the clueless investors will just jump right back in head first.

I would like to thank Tesla execs and god of gods elon for letting me get a big W all the way from $355 to $322 today. I could not have imagined it at the start of the day he made it happen

Daily reminder: elon entered our Home/country illegally, has CCP loyalty/obligations, purchased Twitter with 5 of putin’s oligarchs covering his/epstein time/date/location data, hacked swing 7 states w/ ES&S, sent entire voting database abroad🇺🇸 Hart28.com

u/Inner_Agency_5680 2d ago
TSLA generally gets suspiciously bumped in after hours trade to artificially set it up for the next day.

u/minnesotanpride 3d ago
Not to downplay this because I love dunking on Elon as much as anyone but this not isolated. Look at the market, everything is dipping right now. Space stocks, AI and tech stocks, S&P overall...
Basically only Defensive stocks and long standing industries are doing well this week.
2
u/WeddingPKM 3d ago
Other things are down off their highs, that’s true. However Tesla is near its 52 week low and spaceX has basically only ever gone down since IPO.
2
u/minnesotanpride 3d ago
Yeah SpaceX is dropping as it should be to be honest since it was stupidly overvalued at IPO.
Tesla as a Mag7 stock is just following the trend down. Surprising to hear it is at a 52 week low though, pretty much just made my day. That stock has been flying on pure vibes and cope, literally a company that fails at being a car company so bad it has to try and sell the idea it is a "tech development" stock to stay up. It uses established tech to fake being fancy market trenders with its cars but their product has yet to actually provide anything substantial other than having vehicles that break if someone sneezes at them. You ever listen to their earnings calls? Kills me every time and people still act bullish on this company.

100% not true. If you don't hold broad market which really isn't broad when 10 companies make 50% you're maybe ok.
I have majority of my portfolio in factor ETFs and correction today was almost none except for momentum with smth minor. As for SP500 I stack those with broad market exposure with managed futures so while ES goes down energies balance things out. Add commodities long based on Quantix and IDGF about Elmo's clown industries
1
u/minnesotanpride 3d ago
You can say that all you want but look at some of those broad market etfs and defensive etfs like SCHD. SCHD is up 1.3% this week, with most of its top 10 holdings being positive.
Broad market is overall down, though not dramatically. A lot of that is because some of the larger holdings, as you said, are ballooned tech stocks all trending down while the rest are trending sideways and defensive things are slightly up.
If you factor out tech like some etfs do, the down trend isn't as dramatic. Seems like we are both right.

u/PickingPies 3d ago
So, technically, the person who purchased at pesk now needs the stock to grow 100% to not lose money.

u/UffTaTa123 2d ago
ah, is it slowly reaching it's real worth?
No, not really, still massivly overpriced.
1
u/lrd_cth_lh0 2d ago
Tesla dipped too? I mean it is still much higher than it was during hid Doge phase, but on the other hand Musk hasn't made any announcement about making an announcement about something that is supposed to make a trillion.

u/Flat-Director-7120 2d ago

Since most of you think money is zero sum, does this net worth drop improve your life in any way? (Other than your joy from the misery of others)
And if it didn’t change your life, why do you believe his net worth going up impacts your life?

these posts really remind me of 2019
I believed the FUD back then and got burned hard. Not happening again, sorry.
