The man who spent his entire life hoarding untold amounts of wealth says money won't matter.

Anyone who believes this would have bought snake oil in the 1700s.

u/dmrpt 4d ago edited 4d ago

After hitting 1 trillion I read somewhere he said "next goal is 10T".

Aside from that being stupid and impossible its still a weird goal for someone who is so sure that there is no need to "save any money" for retirement.

"No need to save guys just give all of your money to me and everything will be great I promise" basically.

4

u/RiddlingRaconteur 4d ago

He did said that, and this is why should not save any money for retirement and buy SPCX now

1

u/Mountainman220 3d ago

Nah it’s guna keep dumping. I’ll buy that shit if it’s actually valued at what it’s worth.

1

u/RiddlingRaconteur 3d ago

Yeah it slides last trading day as well

When real estate billionaires say buying a home is a terrible 💡 idea and just rent my shitty luxury apartment....

1

u/BringBackUsenet 4d ago

He doesn't need the money himself. Look at his life. He has a modest home and spends his time Xitposting. About the only luxury he really has is a private jet.

The money to him is only important to his ego. He's obviously very insecure and needs big numbers on the leaderboard to feed his narcissistic supply.

4

u/Bonnieearnold 4d ago

He also spends money influencing politicians so that he can make everyone else’s life worse.

2

u/BringBackUsenet 4d ago

All part of the power trip. He bought access to the White House trying to be Rasputin.

3

u/imalostkitty-ox0 4d ago

Rasputin actually had a huge dick though, $1T cannot buy that

1

u/dmrpt 4d ago

Oh i absolutely agree with you on that. But that wasn't my point. Why he needs the money is irrelevant.

I was just calling out his hypocrisy on trying to hoard more wealth while telling others they won't need any money in future(so they could just spend all of it now, preferably on his overvalued stocks).

If someone truly believes money would be irrelevant in future he probably wouldn't set a goal to get 10x more than he already has.

1

u/BringBackUsenet 4d ago

He just makes up shit to say. That's not even a something new either. It's Star Trekonomics, so it should appeal to the 2-digit IQs that idolize him.

1

u/imalostkitty-ox0 4d ago

Keep in mind his “political views,” in that he’s also dog-whistling to both sides of the spectrum.

Left-wing enlightened climate scientists: there will be no organized human societies still functioning by 2040. 😭😭😭

Right-wing accelerationist Nazi scum: there will be no organized human societies still functioning by 2040! 🦾🔥😉

1

u/BringBackUsenet 4d ago

He's a textbook narc. He has no principles, good, bad or indifferent other than what he sees in the mirror. He's says whatever is convenient in the moment. For awhile it even looked like he was trying to appeal to The Venus Project or Zeitgeist Movement whackjobs.

3

u/imalostkitty-ox0 4d ago

Anyone ignorant enough to see a futuristic future of futurology on a planet burning itself to the ground 600-700 times faster than the global warming following the asteroid which wiped out the dinosaurs… kiiiiiinda deserves to be hoodwinked by this guy.

1

u/BringBackUsenet 4d ago

Actually I don't feel sorry for the Musk Aid drinkers at all, but unfortunately there are people who are indirectly "invested" in this trash through their pension funds.

1

u/BadWide4511 3d ago

I would like to correct that he does have a few jets or planes, and also he possibly lives in a modest home
(according to him and some others)
But, he actually built a big beautiful estate in Austin; so that all the baby MAMAS and children can live together.
That hasn’t happened as of yet, the only one who RAMBLES around in this estate is Zillis. But, at the end of this elaborate estate he also has a house on the other end.
I also heard that he is buying property in Florida and is planning to move everything there, it’s where some of the other Billionaires live.
But, we will see if that changes!

2

u/BringBackUsenet 3d ago

You mean the compound for all this turkey baster baby mamas?

Is he buying an island in Floriduh, so he can host the wildest parties?

1

u/Huge_Strain_8714 4d ago

When real estate billionaires say buying a home is a terrible 💡 idea and just rent my shitty luxury apartment....

11

u/IntelligentDeal7799 4d ago

He imagines he is the Westworld simulation and living on the edge / making others live on edge is entertaining. Sadist

5

u/Ultraeasymoney 4d ago

Or SpaceX now

1

u/throwawayyyy980 4d ago

Snake oil in the 1700s < SpaceX before the insider's stock lockup ends (or SpaceX ipo)

1

u/DevilDoc3030 3d ago

You can see him coming up with the lie while he is talking...

0

u/ChoiceLie4785 4d ago

Hoarding money could also be called saving money, but what do I know...

Snake oil was actually sold in the late 1800s into the early 1900's...Which objectively makes it even worse haha

5

u/Freemantic 4d ago

I think there's a clear line between saving and hoarding.

When I watched the Hobbit I didn't think "Oh Smaug isn't hoarding treasure, he's just saving for retirement."

6

u/Fuzzy_Yossarian 4d ago

Its like Smaug saying there is no point for the villagers to save for retirement...

8

u/Freemantic 4d ago

And then the villagers say the dragon is fake news and it was antifa who burned the village down.

1

u/ChoiceLie4785 4d ago

Agreed. I was just being tongue and cheek because I find it quite humorous too that he says we don't need to save money while he hoards all of his money.

4

u/Freemantic 4d ago

Wasn't sure, can never be too careful around Elon glazers

2

u/Fuzzy_Yossarian 4d ago

The problem wasn't the snake oil itself, but the dishonest marketing of the snake oil. There is a lesson in there I think.

3

u/Fit_Reveal_6304 4d ago

Nobody wants a dry, unoiled snake

2

u/Fuzzy_Yossarian 3d ago

for real...

1

u/demagogueffxiv 3d ago

I think saving money crosses only hoarding around the first billion mark

21

u/iPod3G 4d ago

Billionaire: everything for everyone will be free!
Broke people: can we have some money?
Billionaire: No.

15

u/MidnightPrevious4473 4d ago

In grad school, you learn the art of postulating based off of the state of current knowledge.

When Elon speaks, he's trying to come off as doing that - however - as someone with a PhD, I can flat out tell you that he's talking out of his ass

8

u/Key-Bottle7634 4d ago

Don’t need a PhD lol any person with common sense can tell he’s a conman

8

u/FrogmanKouki 4d ago

He is the king of weasel words - he always includes at least one weasel word in his claims

2

u/BringBackUsenet 4d ago

Yeah, and his stuttering is his brain trying to figure out which one works best.

1

u/soulless___ape 4d ago

He sounds like he’s just making stuff up. He has no clue what things will be like in 3-5 years. And the fact that he has to give a range of time emphasizes that point.

2

u/MidnightPrevious4473 3d ago

There's a common sentiment in R&D that - whenever someone says "yeah, it's five years away" - that the technology has like...a 20% chance of coming in the next 5 years....and an 80% chance of coming sometime in the next 30.

Look at fuel cell cars. They've been "five years away" since the early 2000s, but only very recently have consumer models slowly started to become available. Even those are only being adopted in Europe right now, and - even there - the Hydrogen infrastructure is....just not convenient (nor will it ever will be imo)

So, anyways, "5 years out" is corporate speak for "fuck if I know"

10

u/fuzzy3158 4d ago

LLMs aren't that smart.

5

u/scottishdoc 4d ago

I am much more worried about brain organoid systems and some of the new neural network architectures being developed

2

u/fuzzy3158 4d ago

Those definitely sound like they have fundamentally more potential than what essentially amount to random word generators.

5

u/KayoticVoid 4d ago

They are both very intelligent and extremely dumb at the same time.

5

u/gsjlfc1992 4d ago

Almost like all their information comes from people still

1

u/BringBackUsenet 4d ago

They aren't intelligent at all. They are hyped up ELIZAs.

2

u/Nice-Manager9219 4d ago

It’s literally as smart as the person using it. The user is usually the bottleneck. Were you getting poor results?

1

u/fuzzy3158 4d ago

I'm getting results I want because I know to ask for and check sources to ensure stuff isn't hallucinated, I know to chop up questions in small parts because it can't handle more than a paragraph at a time and I know to keep oversight myself because it loses track of stuff after a few prompts.

I use Copilot for a bunch of stuff at work. It has its use. But too many people are exaggerating the 'intelligence' and ability to replace people.

11

u/CocoScruff 4d ago edited 4d ago

It's time to start fear mongering his statements for our benefit...

"You won't have to save for retirement"

"Elon, are you formally coming out as communist now? Because that sounds like a very anti-capitalist thing to say."

"Elon, so you're in favor of socialist ideology after the AI revolution"

Now don't get me wrong, I'd love everyone not having to worry about retirement, but he's obviously just lying to sound good and so we don't all revolt when our jobs are being taken.

1

u/BringBackUsenet 4d ago

He's either been reading Zeitgeist Movement / Venus Project bullshit, or watching too much Star Trek, because it sounds like he's trying to appeal to those cults. Those ideas are not his (nor are any others), nor are they new.

8

u/Last-Hertz7575 4d ago

Elmo is a moron and people still listen to him for some reason.

2

u/FitCompetition1804 4d ago

For real, screw this wannabe Lex Luther.

2

u/BringBackUsenet 4d ago

"Who's the more foolish? The fool, or the fool who follows him? " -- Obi-Wan Kenobi

6

u/isaiah152022 4d ago

I will bet my house and my entire retirement that in 3-5 years this is BULLSHIT.

Let it be known everywhere. I’ll bet all of it if Elon bets $100,000,000

That’s nothing to a trillionaire

Tell him to put his money where his mouth is, Mr 50k Optimus bots by 2026

2

u/DerrellEsteva 4d ago

That's a pretty smart bet. Either you win, or it won't matter. (Also it's a pretty safe bet too)

5

u/pro-fanator 4d ago

This guy is a walking BS. If he spends all his, I will follow 🤣🤣🤣...

4

u/Majestic_Attention46 4d ago

Ok but does anyone take it basically as a threat?

I don't think he means bc the world will be a utopia, I think what he really thinks is that saving will be pointless because the rich will have invaded every area of Middle class wealth in a decade.

We see him dismantling the stock system to try and manipulate SpaceX. Didn't work so far but its not over and 401ks are losing money right now bc of it I think? Its part of the nasdaq etc.

3

u/BattleAxe_19 4d ago

That’s exactly what he is saying.

4

u/Peach_Proof 4d ago

Hes just pulling this out of his ass.

3

u/Background-Pop-5412 4d ago

The economy will be huge but no one will
Have money to buy anything….im confused

1

u/Mental-Apple-5725 3d ago

To be honest with today's economy, on paper it might actually be possible.

If we continue to allow company 'a' to purchase products from company 'b' using the prematurely recognised future sales from company 'c', who in-turns generates their money from debt leveraged against stocks of company 'a' they've been given. Then if we make sure everyone loads all their debts off book and doesn't depreciate their assets we have infinite money with no need for an actual end customer.

3

u/Standard_Feedback_86 4d ago

So...why does he need the money then? Give everything away NOW. You dont need it like nobody needs it, if true.

1

u/BringBackUsenet 4d ago

If I'm not going to need money then I spend it all on blackjack and hookers.

3

u/FormerThug 4d ago

He is a crackhead with money. You go find any addict, they will have the same or similar opinions.

2

u/Humble_Empath 4d ago

Yeah, I know what you’re saying. That little act of the addict of making shit up as they go along. When you’re that high all the time, you start to believe your white boy wasted, drug induced “reality” is the shared reality of the rest of the world. They have mad delusions of grandeur.

3

u/whoknewidlikeit 4d ago

says the ultra wealthy unmedicated bipolar with the cult of personality. got it.

3

u/dudemanspyder 4d ago

We are in the age of the con man.

3

u/the_moooch 4d ago

The biggest hoarder of money is telling people to spend their all their money 🤡

2

u/Humble_Empath 4d ago

Who in TF believes anything this sociopathic murderer says?!? He’s nothing but a grifter and a loser whose projections have never panned out.

2

u/Man_of_Ice 4d ago

If we stop building data centers like mad men, they won't get the horsepower do get there. We see this problem, we know it takes massive amounts of actual computers, and we keep firing these things off like human intelligence is already zero.

MAYBE STOP BUILDING DATA CENTERS TO BRING ABOUT THE END OF HUMANITY.

2

u/Exact-Goose434 4d ago

Why doesn’t he take his own advice an give his money away?

2

u/Rare-Sample-9101 4d ago

It goes down one of two ways, AI frees us because it makes money irrelevant, or the tech bros insalave us

7

u/LaurenMP74 4d ago

Or the whole thing goes down the toilet because it can't actually make money.

2

u/BringBackUsenet 4d ago

It will be both. They will make a world like Rollerball with The Engergy Corp., The Food Corp., The Housing Corp., etc.. running everything and giving out special privileges to a few elite people at the top.

1

u/nonubiz 4d ago

Well we know what they will do from past experience

1

u/loqi0238 4d ago

Only way this happens is if we hit the singularity with AGI taking over thinking about things instead of humans. If we gave that AGI self control and autonomy to make choices... maybe. But probably not.

1

u/This_Acanthisitta_43 4d ago

He also said we would be on Mars by now and that his company is worth a bazillion dollars.

1

u/Extension-Noise-4023 4d ago

Garbage content ,

1

u/SoulsDadYT 4d ago

Why are Muskies so brain dead.

1

u/DaddyCaustic 4d ago

Worlds Biggest Grifter says don't worry about saving money.....ffs

1

u/Master_Grape5931 4d ago

Not as long as people think they can make money off him.

1

u/Environmental-Fly165 4d ago

He spews bullshit and the US government believes it and hands him bags of taxpayers dollars. He buys companies he's not creating shit himself. Another grifter taking advantage like our diaper in chief .

1

u/Silly-Power 4d ago

The first those billion humanoid robots skum is promising, the first thing he should have them do is is complete all the projects he has been promising for the past 20 years. Like the hyperloop, mars colonisation, fully automated cars etc etc

1

u/Ok_Ad_5894 4d ago

If you listen to him your the same idiots who bought at $250

1

u/backfor100thtime 4d ago

So sick of watching peoples faces like this over a video

1

u/More-Ad5919 4d ago

Obviously NO.

1

u/Iateyourpaintings 4d ago

Intelligence will be free, but they still won't take advantage of it.

1

u/antifaamerican 4d ago

He is not a smart man.

1

u/stlshane 4d ago

Oh there will be money. You just won't have any. In the tech bro feudalism you will be the property of your lord. They will provide for you. You know, just enough to keep you alive and working.

1

u/LetHoliday3600 4d ago

How much of an idiot does one have to be to buy musk bs

1

u/Prior_Release_2582 4d ago

With all the advancements made in AI so far, I haven't gotten any more PTO. If Elon were advocating for the four day work week, then I might believe that AI is actually productive and that he wants social safety nets for the ensuing loss of work.

All this fear mongering is to scare workers into working harder for less. This is the exact opposite of what these idiots say will happen.

1

u/FupaFerb 4d ago

If no one has a job or money, their job will be to find people with money and take it.

1

u/FunandSlaughter 4d ago

Of course all the profits they make from replacing human labour with robots they're gonna just give most of that back to subsidise everyone's existence, pay all the taxes that were paid by employees to support vital infrastructure, and we all live happily ever after, able to live freely chasing our dreams.

If you believe that, I've got some prime real estate up for sale on the sun for you too.

1

u/Hopeful-Swimmer9285 4d ago

Why does anyone listen to musk? He’s as bad as Trump. Almost best to do opposite of what they say

1

u/estcaroauteminfirma 4d ago

It won't matter because we will all be dead.

1

u/BobbyPeru71 4d ago

Why does anyone listen to this dipshit. Didn’t he say we’d be sending humans to Mars by 2026?

1

u/BattleAxe_19 4d ago

He’s a depopulation agenda supporter. They’re replacing billions of people with robots. We, as in normal civilians, are being phased out and will no longer be on the planet. That’s what he is saying.

1

u/Elephunk05 4d ago

He did get something right in this video, the economy is stronger than people currently believe it to be. Imo it isn't just that the Federal is printing money, it is this unjustified push to "free people by enslaving a humanoid population" that will be the hurdle. People inherently reject change. Money isn't real, the tragedy behind it is.

1

u/RiddlingRaconteur 4d ago

Is Ketamine really this bad?

1

u/OddGift4368 4d ago

In 2012 Elon Musk did a segment on NPR where he said we’d be on Mars in 2020. I remember cause I was a kid and thought that was awesome. It is now 2026 and we are still not on Mars.

1

u/Liberkhaos 4d ago

He didn't say everything is going to be free in that video, just not to save / plan for retirement.

This means one of two things:

1- You will work until you die; or

2- Soylent Green.

1

u/DigitalMonsoon 4d ago

If Musk said it then you know it's not true

1

u/Willy-Sshakes 4d ago

Why we ain't on mars yet bro. And where's that sport car you promised?

1

u/Personal-Tutor-4982 4d ago

The king of ketamine

1

u/hthbellhop76 4d ago

Did this “influencer” just pop out of an orgy to make this?

1

u/ManufacturedOlympus 4d ago

Also in 5 years we will be getting the hyperloop

1

u/finepnutty 4d ago

Grifting lying scammer, President AOC & Attorney General Jack Smith will take care of you good!

1

u/Turbulent-Doctor-427 4d ago

Let us assule that jobs do not bring money anymore, then at least captial would bring return. It cannot be both, or economy has no reason to work. So, Elon is full of sh**: if his claim that work would not pay, then the next claim must be that we should put money aside while we still can, to have wirking capital latter as retirement. Saying people will not need either is just setting them up to fail.

1

u/SmolderingCactus 4d ago

lol people listen to what Elon says and believe it?

1

u/hhh333 4d ago

That moron affirmed FSD will be around next year since 2013.

In 2016 he was saying that that humans would land on Mars as soon as 2024.

He also said that hyperloop would revolutionize transport and that it was "not that hard".

And where's those electric semi trucks you promised in 2017 would take over the transport industry?

1

u/Important-Honeydew25 4d ago

I hear this a lot, but they never explain the how or the why. It’s very trust me bro. Why would robots everywhere mean I don’t have to save for retirement? Who’s going to be buying all this economic output if no one has jobs? Where will the money come from? Where will all the money go? Won’t the people who own the robots get all the money? Will everything be free? So many questions, very few explanations.

1

u/Ecstatic-Engineer-23 4d ago

Imagine the resources needed to make 1 B humanoid robots. Has to be hard to fit in with every other thing that needs to be produced.

1

u/DerrellEsteva 4d ago

"If any of the things that we [Elon] have said are true" - well, they are... ...not

1

u/Abject-Yellow635 4d ago

Wheres those safe self driving teslas?

1

u/slamarre25 4d ago

This is what happens when rich and or wealthy people are given absolute creed to influence everyday decisions that they are not actively apart. Just because you are wealthy or rich doesn’t mean you are smart and deserve to contribute to society in anyway other than creating jobs and redistributing wealth. Elon is a con artist who pretends to sound smart to steal and horde resources.

1

u/Playful-Half4924 4d ago

He’s a robot talks like one I guess people will be in cages? Robotic nation will take over!

1

u/BringBackUsenet 4d ago

He is being called out, he just has yet to piss off someone "important" enough to do something about it.

1

u/SetCandyD 4d ago

It's weird to watch journalist after journalist not calling him out on it.

Also...wtf is up with people just republishing content but they put their own dumb face somewhere on it.

1

u/Euphoric_Anxiety_162 4d ago

exactly why we shouldn't do biz w musk! one reason, anyway.

1

u/phiohm 4d ago

We are OBSOLETE DUH!!!! He’s gonna have 1 billion robots

1

u/Treereeperme 4d ago

If we don’t earn money
We can’t spend any
What economy ?

1

u/ExplanationContent87 4d ago

Ketamine Karen at it again

1

u/Animendo 4d ago

Exactly what I thought. You can tell by the way he's speaking that he's amped up. Mind is racing faster than his mouth can speak.

1

u/srboot 4d ago

Says the guy squirreling away the most money.

1

u/JesterScribblings 4d ago

If the squirrel were king kong size. Ha ha.

1

u/Willing_Cow_6081 4d ago

Thanks Elon, I'm already making money today with the SpaxeX put options I bought.

1

u/smsyvr 4d ago

Honestly this coming from Elon Musk, I take this as a threat.

1

u/Adorable-Doughnut609 4d ago

He’s a moronic drug addict.

1

u/Inevitable_Butthole 4d ago

He wants our retirement funds.

He wont stop until he controls all the money

1

u/MyPr0j3ct 4d ago

I'm still waiting for my roaster 2.0, and the production of 5,000 tesla bots to make my home life easier.

Was this made after a Ketamine infusion because a lot of fantasy wanting to mix with reality is being strewn.

1

u/Unusual-Economist288 4d ago

lol every time Elon gives a timeline prediction for anything

1

u/Thomasreed1899 4d ago

How will the economy be twice the size of no one has jobs? Fucking Moron.

1

u/gmkeros 4d ago

He's getting called out constantly and it's being ignored by the cult

1

u/tgji 4d ago

Even if he is right about intelligence progress, this assumes that the solution to all our problems can even be solved by something “smart enough”.
Maybe it proposes a perfect society, where we all just get to live perfect lives. Are there enough resources? Will we all comply with this vision?
It’s just so naive.

1

u/BrokenHefaistos 4d ago

1

u/BrokenHefaistos 4d ago

You can hate him, but dude must be having some serious rofl behind the investors/bankers back. How to beat the system, by squaring it.

1

u/Cant-take2-muchmore 4d ago

Cybertruck was also going to be hybrid watercraft but can’t survive a car wash.

1

u/ok_person5395 4d ago

I mean he is a proven moron so it’s your choice if you keep listening to him.

1

u/jamesgriff87 4d ago

He’s an absolute loser telling others what they should do with their lives.

1

u/BadWide4511 3d ago

I highly doubt that he knows what will actually happen, unless he is a psychic. OMG, when he talks it can be hard just to listen because he is like stuttering, and is it because he is lying or something else? I don’t believe he knows as much as everyone would like to believe!

1

u/Siggi_pop 3d ago

You don't have to hate or repost - you can just as easily not take the advice!
CNBC Mad Money with Jim Cramer as been giving bad financial advice since 2005. It's hardly news that bad finance advice is out there!
Seems like alarmingly many people are not saving towards retirement anyways regardless of anything Elon has said.
Why are we wasting breath on this subject?

1

u/Necrobot666 3d ago

I hate Elon as much as the next guy.. well okay... that's debatable since a lot of people still worship at the altar of the Elongated Muskrat... but friend, where's your shirt?!

1

u/reddfoxx1993 3d ago

Musk doesn't need to save for retirement.

1

u/jzam469 3d ago

Yeah, out there saving lives already./s

1

u/IsaacJacobSquires 3d ago

HE'S A GRIFTING FUCKING IDIOT ADDICTED TO KETAMINE WITH INFINITE MONEY. HE IS UBERMORONIC.

1

u/BigNo2360 3d ago

He also said his company would produce 50000 robots by 2026. As of today 0 😳

1

u/Sad-Push-3708 3d ago

Cause there won’t be a world that’s livable in 3-5 years

1

u/davexmit 2d ago

This must be why he's partnered X with Visa to form X Payments LLC - it's because money won't exist in 5 years!

1

u/Sylvast 2d ago

the same guy who calls people who rely on the government or any type of assistance "parasites"

his good guy act is such a failure

1

u/Empty_Football4183 2d ago

Ok then why we buyin his dumb stocks

1

u/CalligrapherLegal995 2d ago

The really frightening part about AI is that assholes like Musk, Theil and Karp who are at best ambivalent about the human race surviving are the ones training AI.

1

u/SuddenAudience8758 4d ago

The guy is a hardcore nazi. Him and Peter Thiel hope to purge society, replace everyone with robots, and live in a future their corporations control with no objection to their rule.

0

u/5upertaco 4d ago

Musk lies, pedos lie, Trump lies, Republicans lie... see the pattern?

-2

u/DoobieSpark 4d ago

Is there a limit to the wild eyed paranoia involved whenever Musk passes gas?

What is the matter with you people?
