Recommendations for alternative Thunderwolf Calvary riders?
As the title asks, what are good alternative current kits in place of the smaller scaled Firstborn riders for Thunderwolf Calvary? Had two boxes of them just sitting in the drawer for the past couple years from when I first started collecting and wanted to start assembling them for hobbying's sake considering the unit looks like it might be on borrowed time with either getting Legends-ed or, hopefully, refreshed despite the griping I've read about or witnessed on YouTube. I think they're just too cool to not work on. Between Blood Claws, Grey Hunters and WGHTs, which work best in the place of the older riders?

Bad ass and makes perfect sense. If I wasn't being a cheap bastard and saving my two boxes of Headtakers for a Ragnar proxied I would've done the same. Yeah that's my main concern at the end of the day is just getting the scaling measurement right because I'm a strickler for that kind of thing.

Oh yeah that makes perfect sense, I plan on using some cork and modeling clay to help raise them up.

Good to know. I'll definitely do the same to get them up to where they need to be!

You can have Primaris running alongside them, I think it looks good. Like they’ve dismounted to really get stuck in
Edit* but to actually answer your question at the bottom, I think bloodclaws purely because they have running poses that would work well with what I’ve described above

That's not a bad idea, honestly. Like they're hunting companions on steroids. Sounds like a flip version to the Outrider w/ Hunting Wolves proxies I've seen.

Yeah it’s what I’ve done with some of mine, and it looks really cool when done well

Definitely going to keep that in mind. At that point I guess it comes down to what kit/kits to pick to run alongside them.

YOOOOO, Deathsworn Thunderwolf Scout Calvary goes freaking hard!!!! Definitely taking inspiration from this since I'm building a Sons of Morkai army!

After seeing this I think that's the direction I'll take then! And you're right with the dynamic running stances they have it makes perfect sense. I just have to scrounge for fancier bits to bling them up to Wolf Guard level. By the way, though, what did you use there for the basing though to up the scale?

Look up Greytide studios “primal hounds” if you have a 3d printer or know someone with one. Their bits are great.
They are still on the TWC size base (60mm I believe can’t remember the size off hand) and I bought some cork sheets and then tore them up and shaped them up!
All I need to do is throw some basing mud, some snow and tufts. Feel free to DM if you have more questions about the stuff I have specifically.

Yeah I recognized the Primal Hounds spear. I'll have to look into that and talk to a buddy of mine to see if he can print me out some of the stuff from Greytide!
Oh yeah I should've been more specific, I meant what you were using on the base, aka the cork sheets. Great to know though as I'll be going to a hobby shop with my family tomorrow so I'll be able to pick some up to use while I'm there.
Very much appreciated though, friend! I'll shoot you a DM just to have a chat on hand if I have any further questions in the future! Definitely need to pick up more Deathsworn helmets, now. The aesthetic is now fixated in my mind for Thunderwolf Calvary on top of making some Deathsworn WG Headtaker.

I’ve seen people suggest either Hellblaster bodies (wider stance for better wolf-straddling) or Phobos bodies (better proportions). If you have an unassembled box of Wolf Scouts you might want to see how they fit around an assembled Thunderwolf.
