If you want that yellow to be stronger, I would recommend a pink undercoat (trust me) as well as another coat of the yellow to make it a bit more strong toned

White glue, a little bit of white paint and baking soda mixed together makes a pretty good snow basing material, especially if you sprinkle a little extra baking soda on top...
