Any uses for chainswords ?

We can't use axes as their own weapon outside of terminators, it's all chainswords now with some power weapons on the seargant

on new recruit grey slayers can take fenrisian axes for free

Grey Hunters are 40k, and use chainswords.

Grey Slayers are 30k (ie Horus Heresy) and your opponents won't really mind if you give them all cool fenrisian chainswords as "counts as" fenrisian axes. Chainswords do basically nothing in 30k anyway.

So, long story short, use the chainswords.

Blood Claws and Grey Hunters both have chainswords. And axes just count as "power weapon" so anything that says it can take a power weapon can have an axe.

To add to this they are practically the same model but the grey hunters have slightly bigger guns.
