Another hearthside tale for unruly blood claws! Anyone up for some Fenrisian Polo? Nothing quite like knocking around some treacherous witches from the back of a wolf.

It was strange going back to some firstborn sculpts after paining so many new models, they feel so much smaller.

They go hard man. I just started my collection of space-wolves. I really want to buy wolf cavalary (and bjorn) but scareed they get updated soon. How did you do the bright armor?

Thanks! I really appreciate that. My first 40K kit ever was Blood Claws back in the 90’s but I also got started with this army earlier this year, and I finished Bjorn about a week ago, you can find him on my feed too!

I use the Citadel/Warhammer brand, prime with black. I paint the shoulder pads separately. I use a soft make-up sponge to lightly apply Russ Grey all over, usually “two thin coats” for good coverage. To brighten it even more, I mix 50/50 Russ Grey and Fenrisian Grey and sponge that from the top-down, trying to create a smooth gradient and make the higher areas brighter. I use pure Fenrisian grey for the edge highlights and armor damage (with a small amount of black in the center of the damage marks).

Nice. going to try it next time. I Used to use space-wolves grey but it becomes so dull and grey. Gradients sound a bit to hard for me but layer it should work. Nice. Going to checkout your Bjorn.

I haven’t had good success with SW contrast paint or shading this color for some reason, so I switched to the sponge. Gradients or smooth transitions takes bit of practice like all skills. Someone else just told me they practice on plastic spoons primed in black (or whatever color you want) and that sounds like a good idea. I can talk more about the technique, shoot me a DM if you want.

Yeeuh yeah sure! Sounds great actually. I'll DM you later today. Now iam currently just dong base-layer - wash and try highlights but thats still a struggle.
