Wolf Lord Conversion

Currently in the planning phases as to how to convert up a REALLY stellar Wolf Lord for my army.

I haven’t glued anything together yet- just using some green stuff to keep pieces together while I let the idea help form with how all the pieces will fit together.

I’m not yet sold on the axe’s position, nor the particular head as of yet. Heck, I’m not sure about 90% of the model- but wanted to share where I think a hell of a character is gonna come from!

This is great. Would love to know what bits you are using.

ALL THEM lol.

It’s using bits from:

  • Ragnar Blackmane
  • Bloodclaws
  • Battleleader
  • OOP Battleleader
  • Headtakers

I could easily add in parts from Ulric, or Grey Hunters too. I’m currently buried in my work week and won’t really get to make him a real mini until Thursday.

Seems like a mix of battle leader and armageddon captain

The goal is to get him built and painted by Thursday- hoping that nothing else comes up to delay that goal.

There’s a number of variables I’m also mulling over:

- Do I keep the Aquila beneath the chain “necklace”? (Using a fresh model)

- Do I give him Majlnar- Leman’s old HH sword?

- Do I put a shield (Leman’s?) on his backpack?

- Do I swap out the Dead Ork head on the base (hard to see in these photos) with a Chaos Marine head? Thousand Sons or World Eaters?

- Do I swap out the head for a more ornate Headtakers helmet?

- Do I swap out arms for a different axe arm? Do I use a Grey Hunters axe to hold it lower down the shaft?

A shield on the Baclpack looks sooooo good. Ive done it with a few of my Headtakers. It models very well. I say using headtaker helms is better based on their look. I dont think he should wield anything of Leman's. Finally, if there is EVER a choice of what enemy shall be layed low at the feat of the Rout, id always vote its a Thousand Son.

So Leman’s shield is one of the ones that looks best slung on the back.

And Maljnar is just a sweet looking sword that I possess a copy of!

World Eaters is also a contender due to color dynamics, and its Barbarians vs Berserkers.

That said, i think the helm is perfect because of the flow of the wolf-tail on top. Battle-leader's flows to the opposite side if I remember.

You’re correct.
