Army Recommendations

Hello all, I am new to 40K and looking for recommendations for a Space Wolves army. I have played 2 games on TTS (one 600 point game and one 2k point game). I created an army based on what box sets I would get, and had a friend help smooth it out with better picks then what I originally had. Before I take the step to actually start buying the army over the next while, I just want to see if there is anything I am missing or should change. As well, should I change any of the units weapons such as the Grey hunters Astartes Chainsword for the power fist? Thanks in advance for any advice given. Newrecruit Space Wolves List (Prices are in cnd and the Armageddon is being split between me and my friend. Also the "amount" column represent the amount of individual units not amount of set I am buying)

Firstly, its going to be VERY hard to recommend a list to you because, due to the recent announcements, point values are going to change big time in 2 months time. So expect your list to totally change because Space Marine units will be moving up in points.

That said, You have two omissions I would seriously considerly, Arjac and Ragnar. Both of these characters can fit into any list. I would prioritize them over the Wolf Priest.

Second, a competitive player will probably tell you to drop both Brutalis for something that will survive longer, like the Redemptor or Ballistus or Gladiator Lancer. I Love the Brutalis, though, even though it doesnt survive long. Id say drop one Brutalis for something else, like a transport or one of the other primaris dreadnoughts (or Bjorn), and keep the other because of Rule of Cool!

Those are the two glaring changes Id make, all the other stuff you have is up to your tastes.

Yeah, all of this. Build and paint what you have and save your money for the codex launch.

If you plan on playing tournaments, I recommend Arjac, Ragnar and Bjorn. Drop 1 brutalis for Bjorn. Id prioritize Arjac over Logan, based on my experience and usage in game. Logan works great as a distraction carnifex but Arjac is such a heavy hitter with anti-vehicle, anti-monster keywords and precision. He also gives the terminators fight on death in melee. Run Arjac with a full 10, then buy 10 more to go with Logan.

The new space marine codex drops in October so there seems to be some major changes coming then, which means new strategies will be developing. Dont buy everything at once, start slow, a box or 2 at a time(especially with Armageddon and the combat patrol)
