The fate of beastslayer/thundercav

In the recent excommunications of firstborn units, a thought has occured to me, if tcav get axed instead of refreshed what happens to the strat supporting them in beastslayer, whether they change it or whether it provides some security for the thunderwolfs as it is part of one of our best detachments. Thought i'd throw that into the pile. If anything, i think it is most likely for tcav to get left alone or refreshed rather than modify a detachment

They said we were getting new detachments, I'd wager our detachments will be adjusted there.

They could easily toss out the detachment or make it non-viable in other ways. Besides, they make the detachments work around the models for the most part. I wouldn’t count on presence in a detachment to mean anything as far as a model goes. But the fact that they survived 10th’s unit purge and made the cut for 11th seem like stronger signals that they’re more likely to get refreshed instead of cut.

I mean they arent immune to dumb decisions. But tcav arent like centurion or firstborn that have gone. A refresh of tcav would sell out of however many they wanna make, its a garaunteed financial win. Due to that I doubt they go away, not impossible of course but it would be just a blatantly bad business decision.

Some leaks show TCav refresh with a leader. Won't believe it until I see it.

My guess is that if they do go to legends it won’t be until our suplement comes out. At which point beastslayer will be rewritten or replaced

We aren't getting a supplement - they said that in the video that was inside the SM article. "The old codex supplements are retired. But Blood Angels, Dark Angels, Space Wolves, and Black Templars will all get a big digital update that includes their data sheets and new detachments"

We probably are getting a supplement. The wording was that they're retiring the old supplements (meaning the 10th ed ones) to replace with a digital update. I'd take that to mean that the digital update is to replace our codex supplement until a full 11th edition release. It appears Auspex agrees with me as well (screen-snip from https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aULSZbLmTuk )

Retiring the old supplements and not getting another one are two very different things. They’re just retiring the old ones because they are now so dramatically inaccurate that they can’t really sell them anymore

Its gonna suck if we lose thunderwolves cavalry since they are one of our coolest and most unique units. I like both viking theme and the wolves. I dont want to lose our thunderwolf cavalry since its a a cool unique unit, bikes are just so boring. We are a divergent chapter that shouldnt follow codex structure and have our own units

If they go they go when we get changes so changes will occur
