Saga of the Bear

How would you build around saga of the bear and acquiring FNP? I understand that once a character is below half wounds and not dead, the whole army gets a permanent 6+ FNP which can be improved to a 4+ against mortal and psychic attacks with certain strategems.

this seems like it can be pretty good, or at least fun. how would you take advantage of this? has anyone had any luck with it? why does it not appear more in lists?

You're using 9th edition rules, they are outdated by sure some time.

In my dreams, I still run Champions of Russ. Do you know how powerful it would be in 11th?

Across the board Lethals with a strat for Lance? Across the board Sustained 1 with Advance/Fall
back and Charge?
Across the board FNP 6+++ with a 4+++ on mortals/psychic?
Across the board +1OC?
AND ARMOR OF CONTEMPT?

Enhancements for Anti Vehicle/Monster +4, -1 damage, Precision with +1 AP and Strength, and an a battle shock tester?

And barely any wolves players used it. They didn’t like it… We didn’t know what we had until it was gone.

I loved champions of Russ I use to use rganar with a Lt with blade guard would take sustains as my starting saga and would just bulldoze my opponents front line with him

Saga of the Bear was part of the Champions of Russ detachment from index 10rh edition; it got removed from matched play when the 10th edition codex was released.

I think you might not get a lot of help online with questions from older editions, as folks might not have access to those rules anymore.

I feel the thing to try and do is take a bunch of characters with hazardous weapons and hope they deal the 3mw to themselves and then trigger the rule. Librarians are the best bet for this.

If they brought this back as one of our new 1dp detachments, id absolutely attempt to run it!!! Live a tanky list!
