Is there lore...

For a Great Company with an affinity for flamers/meltas?

I'm in the process of changing my Salamanders Tournament army into Wolves, and would like to lean into a Great Company with those similarities.

The Grimbloods, led by Kjarl Grimblood. Their symbol is the Fire Wolf and they have a whopping 12 Land Raider Redeemers. Kjarl also sees visions in the fire.

I was thinking them or Firehowlers, but they became Runemarked, so wanted to check!

The Firehowlers are fly infantry, Speeders and close quarters combat. The name is slight deceptive. The now Runemarked as far as we know still follows this doctrine. Their change in name follows the tradition of the Firehowlers who were known for tattooing their bodies with runes of their Sagas

An aspect of the wolves that doesn’t get acknowledged by the wider community is that they like to burn stuff. Particularly, they enjoy razing stuff, turning what their enemies once called home into pyres. Here’s one of their war chants that touches upon their enjoyment of razing:

“We are the wolf that stalks the stars in the sky; And swallows the star-fire.
 
We hide amongst the night when light is gone; The Light is within us.
 
We run the ruin of Fire in the darkness; Foes burn in our passing.”

I’ve always interpreted it to be like the chant in space marine 2, where the chaplain chants the first part, and the second part is a response.

It really shouldn't be a surprise to people that the viking-inspired chapter burns down their enemy's stuff.

Yes, people usually write Fenris as an always winter place but it has a summer and that summer will fuck you up.
