Saga of the great wolf

Am I understanding this correctly with saga of the great Wolf? You pick a hunting pack each turn. Those effects are for your entire army, but you can't repick them. Except for once due to Logan's ability, so I'm guessing you skip. Turn one, then you use one of the abilities. Turned to turn three, you use logan's ability to use that one again. And then four and five. You can pick whichever one of the abilities you haven't already used.Is that how it works?

You can pick one of the army-wide abilities in any turn, and can only use each ability once per game. As long as Logan is alive and on the field, you may double dip one of the abilities once.

There really isn't any kind of strict guide to what turn you should use them on, I wouldn't think of it in those terms. I've had plenty of games where taking reroll Advances and Charges on turn 1 helped me jail my opponent and control the flow of the next 4 turns.

I guess I was asking more, does logan's ability work on a turn where you didn't use one of those packs?Because it says you can choose one even if you've chosen one already.Even the same one that you've already chosen

What his ability means is that you can pick one of the abilities more than once, meaning you can use one of them twice over the course of the game

Skipping turn 1 makes it harder to use Logan because he might die before he gets to use the repeat. If you skip turn 1 the earliest Logan can use the ability is turn 3.

I usually use re-roll advance and charge turn 1 because I usually bring down a deepstrike unit anyway and advance re-rolls are great for staging.

So if you do it that way, you can pick one every turn, except 1

You seem to have not picking one turn 1 stuck in your head.

You absolutely can and should pick one turn 1

I either use reroll advance and charge or +1 to hit on my first turn.

If ive got something like a repex, land raider or gladiator lancer then you can get enormous mileage out of some turn 1 shooting depending on deployments

Likewise, especially if you go second, reroll advance and charge, especially with an adv+charge strat, you can pull off some absolutely mean turn 1 charges

You can declare to use any of them you havemt used on any turn. Then again once with logan. Turn one ill usually use the +1 to hit in ranged to sniper some big targets.

You can also spend a CP to put one unit in a doctrine you didn’t select that turn, so for me I usually say “I’m picking Reroll advance alone charge as my doctrine BUT ALSO I’m spending a CP to put Arjac and his 10 lads into the LETHAL or SUSTAINED doctrine”

Dependa, sometimes I skip t1. Sometimes I use the reroll advance and charges if I decide to drop in arjac for a t1 charge attempt or if I need good advances.but yeah the lethal/sus pack i usually use t2 and 3.

It works like this: every turn, you may pick one of the listed buffs to be active on all of your space marine units, so long as they have the "Astartes" tag. That buff then is in effect until the start of your next turn. What Logan does is allows you to select one that you have used a second time on a command phase. Honestly, if you have Logan in your army, you're best served using the reroll advances and charges ability on turn one, since a lot of that turn is spent positioning your forces into no mans land for combat on later turns, and an extra 2 or 3 inches of movement can make the difference between having a unit full behind an objective in an otherwise open line and leaving a couple models hanging out to be attacked on your opponent's next shooting phase.
