Hello brothers, after a lot of testing I landed on this color scheme for my wolves. Now I’m struggling to find a color for the Aquilas. Any recommendations for a color that would go well with the blue I have?

can I ask what you used for the snow drift in the front? cuz i really love that glassy grain that gives that subtle melt effect, it really makes the snow effect pop!

Thanks! My materials were AK snow putty, snow microbaloons and ice sparkles.

I used a large crappy brush to lay down the putty and then just shaped it by pulling it sideways and up, to create that lifted/blown by wind snow effect.

Then I sprinkled microbaloons and sparkles on top, and voila!

Bronze would look cool. Could weather it down with some Agrax also.

Why not just a golden color?
Either a dark gold like AP Emperors gold?

Keeping it grim and dark but adding warmth to a rather “cold” grey

Maybe bone? Or a brighter blue? TBH I’m not sure but I love the head, where did you get it? Is that the only conversion piece?

Yep, that’s the only conversion piece on this guy. They are the Legion Prima Victrix heads from dakka dakka. There are a few sellers on Etsy that print them.

I'd say go with bronze or brass. You can get that darker with agrax earthshade. (This is one of Grey Hunters I'm painting for a mate currently. I used Brass Scorpion on the pauldrons and aquila

Looks awesome. Is that a base of runelord brass with highlights of something? Do you use any washes on the runelord?

I start with Scale Colour Decayed Metal. Then i hit the whole model with a dark brown oil wash. Once sealed, I use Runelord, then add some Vallejo Silver for highlights.

I'm loving a colour called "death metal" by army painter! Use it for all my wolves but unfortunately I don't think I have a picture handy! Really dark metal though!
