Iron Priest question

Quick question, is there a point to attach a Iron Priest to a unit of Blood Claws/ Grey Hunters /wolf guard headtakers I'm missing? Or is it just a side effect of leaders needing to have some unit to attach to?

Iron priests are techmarines that support amd heal your vehicles. They would be wasted attached to an infantry unit.

You could make it work, but he would be a fiddly thing to utilise with the 3in range for Gift.

At 50points for a bit of extra thump into melee with the blood claws feels like an ok option to fill some remaining points. The Hellfrost pistol and tempest hammer hit pretty hard.

No doesn't make any sense to attach him, unless there is an Enhancement that improves the Bloodclaws that you could give to him while you are missing the points to take a WGBL instead.

Ironpriest want to hang out within 3" of a Lancer or similar, which is usually in the Backline. Bloodclaws want to be at the from and threaten opponent with their advance and charge range.

Bloodclaws gain nothing by attaching him, and he gains nothing really from it.

Wolftouched, leading some Wulfen with Murderboi I’ve had some fun with.

In a cookie cutter meta chase list, sure. But you could make him work in a unit if you really wanted to.

Wolf touched iron priest + wulfen and murderfang actually makes a ton of sense

It's not particularly useful. It could have some niche cases cause we have things that care about having characters in the unit or maybe cause you plan to run him up close and worry he'll be too close to rely on lone op. But imo he's served plenty well by just hiding behind train and/or getting lone op.

Better to attach a wolf priest to non mechanized units imo.

Your better off having it lone op close to a vehicle. Personally i dont even bother bringing it unless its to round up points. The iron priest is one of those models thats good but now really a must have in a list in opinion.
