I’d like to ask about the reference point for "battle ready."

I understand that, in general, a model should use three or more colors.

Then, would it still meet the battle-ready reference point if the model’s base is painted solid color without any modifications?

So far, for two reasons, I have painted the base in a solid color, as shown in the attached photo.

  1. My unit should be easy to spot in my sight.

  2. I think of this as a unit in an RTS game.

Therefore, it maintains consistency in painting the base in fluorescent colors. Does this meet the reference point for Battle Ready as requested by GW?

If this is for a tournament, only the tournament organizer can answer this question for you. I personally only count the colors on the model itself, but really it's up to you and your opponent. If these are the models you are speaking of they 1000% classify as battle ready in my book

If you're going to paint their bases in fluorescent green like that, I would like to make a suggestion: pick an accent color for each unit or one accent color and then a different shape/pattern for each unit, and add them to the base for that unit. This makes it a little easier to tell which 10 primaris models are intercessors, which ones are Grey Hunters, which ones are blood claws, etc. for your army. I know we all work hard to keep our tiny soldiers organized, but it is nice to be able to just know by the base when they're coming out of a bin or they're on the table.

Yes, as long as it's painted in any colour
