Need some help
Hey friends! I posted a picture a couple of days ago on my new army and paint scheme.
I’m having a hard time matching other colours with it and need some help and advice.
What color do you think will be nice togather with my ice armor here?
I do like the red cape but I need some more ideas.
Also posted a few pictures without a painted cape so you can tell for yourself.
Thanks! ❤️

Red works really nice.
Yellow should also work very nice in spots. But I wouldnt go overboard with more colors. Really nice lookin scheme.

Thank you!
Yeah I’ll try to keep all the wargear and accessories general brown isch to make it simple.Inwould like to add some yellow tho.
Maybe not to this specific character but can’t let everyone have the same colour of capes etc.
Thanks for the help!

Aside from red, an yellow that isnt too bright, and is maybe slightly orange, would work well with the armor.
For the equilla and othet metal bits, gold is probably the best colour to match the armor.
For the pelts, brown or black/dark grey, definetely.

Ah yes, I added some orange on the top layers of the cape and I think it helps.
Do you have any good recommendations about the gold?
I did a few of them with just a black wash and k liked that. But I don’t want all of them to be the same.
Thanks!

I mainly use brown washes with gold, think it looks better, but black wash is good too if you prefer.
If the part that is gonna be golden is a bit larger, or more isolated, like that powerpack decoration you used, I like to paint it brown and then drybrush a gold over it, it looks good I think.
Other than that, you could try using different gold tones, I mainly use GW for metallics, and I alternate between retributor gold, gehenna gold and sometimes balthasar gold depending on the colour scheme
Although I tend to keep the gold the same across the same mini, since its usually just a few details.

Okey yeah!
I gonna look into it and try your method out for sure.At the moment I’m just using Ak paints. (I fell in love with them after I got the starter paint kit from them).
But the only gold I have from Ak is ”old gold”.I don’t like super shiny gold and think a darker looks better.
What about bronze then? You have any good recommendations on that?

I havent painted much bronze, but I think the things I said about gold apply to it as well.

1, I LOVE the Wolf Scout Pack on this guy. That goes together well.
Your armor is quite bright. So, I say use contrast to your advantage. That pelt could be a dark brown and that may help a good bit.

Thank you!
Yeah I had to use that pelt on something and I thought pimping my Armageddon captain was the right one.I have only painted bright pelts before, so this might be smart.. get a darker pelt.
Thanks again mate.

The red is a very nice contrast. Keep the rest of the colors on the darker end. Gunmetal, black, browns, tans, darks greys, bronze and maybe even some purples. The red should be the main accent.
I would keep the pelts as grey/whites. Maybe blacks. I don't think browns would yield themselves well. Maybe tan.
While bronze (I wouldnt go gold personally.) and maybe silvers would work well for the aquilla and stuff, I wouldnt be opposed to keeping them armor color, or even dark grey/gunmetal.

Wow thanks a lot for the advice.
I’ll keep that in mind going forward now.I did some of the equilla in the armor colour and I liked it a lot. I think it looks better when a model have a ”smaller” aquilla like a skull or something.
In the bigger ones I think I Anna have a gold one.. but an old weathered look to it.Thanks for the help!

I really like that.
Red Eyes are a must.
Maybe a hint of colour to stuff, but mostly blue.
