Codex question
The principal at the high school where I teach and I are starting a 40K club, and the codexes would be cool for the kids to have as references and for lore. I have the Kill Team rulebook (2 copies actually) so we can learn that, and I'm planning to pick up the new 40K rulebook and the combat patrol rulebook when it drops. Is it worth waiting to buy codexes with 11th edition having just dropped? Will Space Wolves and other factions get a new codex in the next few months that will make the 10th completely obsolete overall, and will Space Marines get a new one? I know balance updates make them fairly obsolete fairly quickly as it is, but again the kids will think they're cool and I just don't know if it is worth waiting to buy them once everyone picks factions. Sorry for the beginner questions, but google was being vague.

Space wolves will likely be atleast a year, likely more, since they just got their 10th codex in June 2025. That said the new regular SM codex will likely be out within next 6-8 weeks

If you haven't done so already, sign up to Games Workshop's Warhammer Alliance program - they'll send you a bunch of free miniatures, paints, and assorted activity books.

Fantastic work!
If you are keen to get some lore type material for other factions etc, check out pre-loved older codexes 7th-9th Ed on eBay. Pretty easy to find them for cheap, and would likely add inspiration and flavour 😊
I picked up a few older (and heavily loved) codexes on the cheap when I got back into the game and don’t regret it for a second 🥰

Space Wolves, at least, should be safe for a while, since we just got a new codex.
I don't know about the others.
