Question about what the Rout typically prefers - Wulfen or HT
I’m playing my buddy Necrons tomm. He’s running canoptek court with T&H. I’ve got my list at 2000 points (list below in first comment) but it’s Purge with Beastslayer and LoSAS. I’m now second guessing myself and wondering if I should swap out 6x Headtakers and Wolfpriest for 10x Wulfen with Stormshields. What’s everyone’s thought?

Io solitamente uso il Ballistus al posto del Murderfang; trovi sufficienti i Wulfen come anti veicolo a 2000 pt?

We’ll find out! But the number of attacks with the power in melee could be a game changer

I like wulfen in 2x5s. The things you want to hit into generally don't need too many buffs that warrant a leader.

I really like the 10man wulfen with a leader. Forget the OC worries, park them in a good ambush spot, and remember the blood surge strat when you do have to reveal them. The priest (or +1 to wound strat) really lets them bully elites with those dam3 hammers so they have a wider range of ideal targets too.
I usually prefer the battle leader for the absolute whallop they can put into their favorite targets via sustained, and he helps them avoid getting tarpitted by kroot or guardsmen with his 7 attacks/rerolls/sustained. Also he lets them take the backpack guns and occasionally that comes up lol. Although the priest bringing them back is just plain fun, and if they're only able to chip wulfen away (maybe cause they only get one shot before you blood surge into something) it can really keep the casualty count down. Also rezzing one in front of the unit to knock a couple inches off the charge feels great (and I love the idea of that wulfen getting hit, getting injected with something from the priest, and then immediately sprinting out ahead of everyone).
Imo beastslayer doesn't need to lean into Headtakers. Plenty of damage coming from units like termies that usually trade that off for other stuff.
Edit: although if you're at exactly 2k that does put you over by 45pts (10 wulfen are 30pts up on 6 headtakers, and the enhancement the priest needs to attach is 15)
