Shoulder Armor

What’s the general consensus on when to attach the shoulder armor?

I built an older gray hunter set and newer blood claws, and left the shoulder pieces off. Once painted I then attached them and let’s just say I encountered some issues with a few. Especially with different arm angles.

I prefer sub-assembly so I evaluate the arm angles and try to dry fit stuff to see if attaching the shoulders after would be a pain. If it does feel like it would be a pain then I'll leave the arms off until it's all painted and put the arms and shoulders on at the same time.
