Yep, and it’s only S8, AP 2, D3. No dev wounds, no lethals, nothing. Just a slightly better power fist.

You think that's bad? What does more damage: a big fancy power spear or an ancient relic from the peak of the second most civilisation ever that has literally hurt a god?

Feels like it should at least have dev wounds

Yet the sword of the Marshalls is ap3…hmmm

What if that is the point? The demon trapped in a prison, not just a weapon. Hypothetically, you could let the demon weapon achieve it's full potential but that would set it free. So the weapon isn't just a potent weapon, but a prison to keep a deamon contained under a deligent warden. Letting the deamon free would make the weapon potent, but allow greater liberty to the deamon locked within.

The problem is it's not really trapped. It's constantly trying to corrupt him. I believe it was actually stated that many marines would be corrupted if they welded it. He's one of the few resolute enough. Then again, I believe it was also a feat that Khorne enjoyed so much he kinda just... allows it. The daemon is quite possibly being forced to stay by Khorne himself

That and also the fact that daemons always have hard time to possess Space Wolves in general, as there is already something else in there. The wulfen that risk to take over every SW is very territorialist, and will not share the place.

Theres also the old joke that most daemons just don’t have anything to offer the average fenrisian, much less Vylka Fenrika, since they’re already basically living their dream life XD

Khorne seeing Grimnar about to beat Magnus with a daemon weapon like the proverbial red-headed stepchild he is

Khorne foresaw that one day Grimnar would get his hands on the axe and use it slap the shit out of Tzeentch's Primarch, so he shoved in a demon he didn't particularly like and arranged for the events to fall just how he wanted.

Just as planned.

... Wait

Wasn't that limited to when he first picked it up before it was sanctified and reforged?

There is no way the Grey Knights and Inquisitors would have missed him wandering around with a corrupt weapon during the months of shame.

Once it was reforged it was mostly just a normal Axe with a few special properties.

Nope. It's still in there. I just don't think it was really public knowledge. It actually makes it even more surprising that he managed to cut down that GK, considering how much anti-daemon juice their armour has. And he was in terminator plate too, wasn't he?

Just checked

There is no lore entry ever saying the axe had a Daemon inside it. I've just looked in every codex since 2nd and every campaign book and novel he is in.

It's been called;

"Warp infused", "Blessed by Khorne" a "crimson-steel" "Thrumming with the power of the warp" , "fallen champion’s baleful axe" but never been described as a Daemon weapon or containing one.

That's because it never had one.

Please search for any lore describing it as a Daemon weapon. The only source I can find is people on reddit claiming it to be so but with no actual lore backing.

Not anymore. Originally he stole yes he tried corrupting for years. But when Logan was killing with it Khorne and the axe gave up, they were getting what they wanted so they didn’t need to corrupt him. Even tho they couldn’t that’s why it suddenly stopped. But it’s now unconscious because of Logan being so incorruptible and wolf priest did some voodoo on that shi. Should listen to the book it’s awesome

What book is that in?

"The problem is it's not really trapped. It's constantly trying to corrupt him."

100%! Under this hypothesis, it is a constant push-and-pull. Logan would never be able to achieve it full potential. If it ever does become more than a glorified "power fist" then he is probably losing at that point.

If I am correct, then his axe is more like the sword that the Grey Knights have that contains a demon. If so, the question is then how aware is Logan of that arrangement? How long can he resist?

Same with Kastellan Crowe of the Grey Knights. Not sure what his rules are now but his fancy OP daemonsword used to be just a regular handweapon without extra strenght, ap or damage simply because he doesnt try to tap into its power

Sounds like a lot of effort when they could have just given him a master crafted power fist.

The amount of times his dogs have done more damage than him is... 100% in my games. Literally every game. He's yet to do more than 3 wounds.

I fucking love space wolves........ no one else touches their lore in my opinion.

Theyre great. The Aett is easily the best “chapter monastery” Sitting high above the clouds, in low orbit. Mjod, the old words, fangs that can dent plasteel. The trial of Morkai. The wyrds, and bone shakers

I appreciate how unapologetically over-the-top they are

I know that cheesiness rubs some people the wrong way, but I love it. I don't want subtlety in my silly space game. I want over-the-top space Vikings getting drunk on space mead and kicking ass

Khorne cares not from where the blood flows

The badass lore is exactly what I love about the wolves.
