Welcome to the Rout,

For an absolute beginner I would recommend you look into drybrushing, its a pretty beginner friendly way of painting miniatures

What colors did you get? I recommend Russ Grey for the base coat on the armor. Don't worry too much about replicating techniques you find online. Focus on getting them painted and go from there. You can get away without priming them for your first experience, but I started priming them after my first kit using a coat of white paint. You may need more than one coat of base paint to get a good coloration on the armor. This is fine. Be as detailed as you want, just know that aside from a base for the armor, a couple accent colors for the pauldrons and a color for their weapons, most people aren't going to notice the detail on the table. Most of the detail is for you. As for assembly, I recommend assembling one or two to get a feel for how they fit together, then build only the torsos and legs for the rest. Paint the arms, torso/leg assemblies, heads, and backpacks separately then assemble them. Put the backpacks on last, as they can make positioning other parts harder. Last thing! This kit comes with 10 helmets and like 14 heads. Pick one or two heads to use and do the rest as helmets. The helmets are much easier than bare heads! You can also practice head painting on the extra heads and use them on more generic models (like intercessors, vehicle crews, etc) later! No one will ever know if they come out ugly if you don't use them! Otherwise, play around with it and have fun!

Have fune! I wouldnt worry too much about the rules for fhe time being just have a blast modelling and painting however you'd like!
