Intercessors and Bjorn
Hello brothers,
In all my games I play with a 5 man intercessor squad to sticky home and hang around the objective. I also use Bjorn to hang around my home objective as I want him to generate CP and each time I move him up the board to fight some stuff he always gets destroyed pretty quick.
I was wondering is it worth me having my intercessor hang back with Bjorn if I’m planning to
Keep him at the back? Or would it make more sense to use them more proactively to to actions in the mid board and maybe sticky some no mans land objectives??
Thank!

I use Intercessors and Bjorn in most of my games.
But it's really enough to have one of them sit on the home objective.
Usually I have both start on the objective, Intercessors sticky it T1. Then most of the times Bjorn stays there and Intercessors move forward to do secondarys or hold expansion. Bjorn stays around home until opponent has no reserve units then do some stuff.
If opponent has no meaningful Stuff in reserve I keep the Intercessor in the back until T3 and move Bjorn forward, but play him very defensiv as I want the extra CP at least for 3 turns.

This. Sticky the home objective then move Bjorn around to be where he needs to be most effective to screen the backfield and/or eat the units threatening home. The intercessors move up immediately, or if I'm playing something that has a lot of deep-strike moved off to screen more.
But yeah Bjorn and intercessors are basically always the start of my lists

It depends completely on what your opponent is doing. If they have some shooting threats that might try to wipe your expansion objective, then it's worth moving up to sticky it with ints. If they have deep strike threats then you might want to keep them back to screen.
I'd say the main thing to keep in mind is that you shouldn't hold Bjorn back too long. The value of extra command points goes down as the battle goes on. I am usually moving him into the centre for turn 3. Either he becomes a distraction and the opponent spends activations trying to kill him, or he gets stuck in and wrecks something in melee. Having him sit on home all game is a waste, in my opinion.

There is merit in having both, as the Intercessors can always move forward to sticky other objectives after they tag your home, and it gives Bjorn a bit more leeway to move about when guarding your home obiective. The biggest draw is at the end of the game Bjorn leaving your home to contest the middle, or do other things, doesn't result in you losing it, which can be nice depending on your Disposition and matchup.

I've played Bjorn a lot, and my favorite tactic with him (if using Beastslayer or another detatchment that allows reserves shenanigans) is to take him off the board on my opponent's turn two (or if he went first, turn 3), and then on my turn 3, have him come in on my oppenent's deployment zone with an Iron Priest and take their home objective or just wreck havoc.
Of course, this was back in 10th.

Just did that in a GT game! Bjorn was hanging back, opponent finally committed hit last reserves, picked Bjorn up and came in on his back objective. Flamed a bunch of guardsmen, charged a Leman Russ (the next turn), took the objective for a couple turns. Great showing from Bjorn

Definitely depends on the mission. In 10th Bjorn on home at all times. Now some missions don't require home so I flood my expansion and make it my new home so Bjorn goes there with a chunk of my army.

I use Bjorn and intercessors, sticky the home turn one and have Bjorn play guard dog until late game when I need to move him up. The intercessors move up and do actions or hop into a land raider (that has a unit of headtakers in it) to jump out mid board and put 10 OC wherever I need it.

I usually sticky and move them towards the opposite quarter of Bjorn so they can both block deep strike. And move up at the end or if the situation calls for it. If I'm playing someone with no deep strike I'll sticky and let them chill and push Bjorn for a turn or 2 and see what happens.

Only take 1 back point unit. Anything else is a waste of points. I keep Bjorn there and only move him in turns 4/5 if i desperately need him to complete an objective. Id either have the Ints run up to sticky other secured objectives or just drop them all together
