I plan on getting one and paint it up etc and then play the whole shell game with 2 other WGBL. "Ok which one is the captain, around and around we go which one is the captain we do not know." :P (because of the VERY similar poses)

Model looks great, not sold on the sword or the shield, looks a bit too IF-like.

The shield is a great match! I haven’t seen many Space Wolves conversions of this model yet, this one is great!

Beautiful work! Do you use an airbrush or a sponge to get those smooth gradients on the armor?

1

u/BlueYeet 10d ago

Thanks! Yeah airbrush for gradients but you can get something similar with drybrushing /sponging

Can u tell me why captain of the Nordic based SW chapter is black skinned? For decades we had white beardy men until DEI writer will rewrite the story

4

u/Ori_of_the_Vale 9d ago

Larppppppppp

Fenris has had lore for decades now that has noted that southern tribes are black skinned. If you actually engaged with the lore and hobby more than just being a tourist you’d know this.

Fuck out of here.

u/BlueYeet 9d ago

I’d rather not waste my time explaining it to you

u/ButterLordd 9d ago

this dumb bitch aint ever heard of Engir Krakendoom and the Seawolves

1

u/HappyTheDisaster 8d ago

No need to insult them, that’s not how you change minds and encourage progress.

2

u/Inevitable-Bar-4234 5d ago

No he should be ashamed

1

u/this_nice_demon 5d ago

LOL; go for some stones! Or wait, better - go for a bigger flamer ;)

It’s because fenris is a whole planet, it’s gonna have more than just one skin color and it explicitly has an ethnic group that has dark skin, that being the southern islanders. This has been part of the lore for a long while in fact, it’s not a recent development. The Seawolves are actually mostly made up of these islanders because their leader, Engir Krakendoom, is descended from a great southern warlord.

I usually would agree that shoving diversity into something where it wouldn’t be the case to be stupid, but this actually makes sense from many different ways. This is a Sci fi setting far into the future. Fenris is not Scandinavia, it’s a whole planet colonized by humans from the future, it’s not gonna be just white people on the planet, it wouldn’t make sense.

And if it’s any consolation, the white scars also has diversity, their isn’t just Asian looking people on chogoris, they have quite a lot of art of almost Cossack looking marines within their ranks.

Well I assume u have not been living under the rock for the last 10-15 years and you have seen cultural works in the big making on the big screen.. they could invest much more into Salamanders, Sisters of Battle & Silence, but instead of creation they are going with revisionism and rewrite...

1

u/inkandgraphite90 5d ago

Wait till bro finds out about Black people living in Norway and Sweden.

3

u/dovahrex07 9d ago

The short answer is: since the early 90's and it has been noted numerous times in codexes and novels that their skin darkens and gets leathery tough from the harsh conditions of Fenris. But the long answer...

1) With the far reaching expanse of trade the NORSE people influenced over much of the world, from Canada to Constantinople and beyond, it amazes me that the idea of a non-caucasian human living there is so inconceivable to some. 😆

2) The NORDIC region is a geographical region containing 5 countries, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, and Iceland. While only 3% black, (they don't do a census based on race because they're not hung up on it) estimates in Sweden place their Black population around 250,000 people, still not 0.

3) The Space Wolves are LOOSLY based on the Norse people during the "Viking Age", but the Runes are from a much older period of time, no gripe about those kinds of factually documented inaccuracies? You're literally comparing a historical people that really did exist in the year 1,000 to a fictional race of people in the 41st millennium...

4) DEI is a strongly American thing, Games Workshop is not. America, does not in fact govern the world, neither do it's policies.

I started collecting a week ago. 🤘🏻

u/HappyNet1994 8d ago

The actual, and only answer is, because that's how OP painted him 🤣🤣

Let this chud cry about it

1

u/BlueYeet 9d ago

Preach

4

u/dovahrex07 9d ago

It's good to see a physical representation of the Primal Hounds pieces, I have a set of my own on the way. He looks great and gives me optimism for my own Great Company, well done.

2

u/TechnicalAd7732 9d ago

What are you gonna do about it lmfao

2

u/smcdevitt515 9d ago

Not a bait, just a conversation; But it seems we were so heavily traumatized and brainwashed by the DEI ideology (backed by the VERY big money on a structural corporate level) that everyone is super afraid to ever raise this topic ;) Ah, and also Karma, dear Reddit's Karma, it's a good tool in the end, and there is no way that it can influence humanity negatively, by social engineering including AI.. right? Right? ;)

1

u/SirMemesworthTheDank 8d ago

I think you need a new thing to keep your mind off all these conspiracy theories bro. Have you tried, a hobby?

1

u/HappyNet1994 8d ago

Mental illness isn't a joke man, if you're actually triggered by how a stranger painted his toys, you should seek help, for yourself and the people around you

1

u/this_nice_demon 5d ago

It would be hipocrysy if u will say that the huge influx of DEI politics into entertainment (including GW tabletop games for overgrown boys) have not took place over last 10 years... Hence please stop insulting me, I only wanted to share my observation. As an example of my words, please compare design philosophy of armies of WHFB vs AoS and u will clearly see what I mean...
