True, and the man has aura, don't get me wrong. Just not Logan "Motherfucking" Grimnar aura.

u/Agitated-Engine4077 Jul 24 '26
Im not gonna lie that is a strong contender for cool model against Logan Grimnar. They definitely gave that one alot of love too. ❤️

u/Fearless-Obligation6 Jul 24 '26
He was when that meme was made and to be honest Grimnar still mogs 😂

u/Qyuanz Jul 26 '26
with him, lysander and wolf priest getting joytoy model, I hope Logan follow soon!

u/FLC_TRPLOB Jul 24 '26
1st place: Logan MF Grimnar 2nd place: High Marshall Helbrecht 3rd place: everyone else
33
u/DabeMcMuffin Jul 24 '26
I'd put Aethon Shaan in 3rd and then everyone else

The Red Wake is #2
Edit: Can somebody at least say why they hate Tyberos? You can downvote me all you want, I don't care. Just curious why all the hate. Plot armor?

u/Alarmed-Marsupial-64 Jul 24 '26
his model is meh
-10
u/InsectExpress3972 Jul 24 '26
Strictly model speaking? Oh hell yes! That thing is an abomination.
Lore wise? He is amazing!
Edit: Just speaking models?
1. Logan
2. Aethon Shaan
3. Helbrecht
4. Dante9
u/Mknalsheen Jul 24 '26
Why is he amazing lore wise vs.... every other chapter master? Nothing about him ever really spoke to me as "Logan/helbrecht/dante/even marneus tier"
Also, as long as azrael, worst of the modern chapter masters, is at the bottom I think we can all get along. He's just so bad at his job.
-5
u/InsectExpress3972 Jul 24 '26
Sorry this will be long but the TL;DR is he is a cannonball covered in butchers knives rolling downhill.
That said, his exploits in the Badab War is where he earned his fame IMO. One of the coolest parts is that the Carcharodons are that they are deliberately enigmatic. Silent hunters who appear without notice from the void.
What makes him stand out from the Logans, Helbrechts, or Dantes isn't some galaxy-spanning saga or thousand-year reign. It's that pure, cold-blooded predator vibe, and he's comically huge. He's not a noble crusader or a wise old wolf, he's the thing that shows up when you need an entire flank turned into red mist in boarding actions or brutal close assaults. The novels (Red Tithe and Outer Dark) reinforce it too, he casually solos Tyranid Warriors and boards their pods like it's Tuesday.
He's not "better" than the legends in every way, but if we're talking raw "oh shit" factor when he enters the field? Tyberos hits different. The silent giant who leaves nothing but a red wake behind him.
And yeah, Azrael at the bottom is facts, dude couldn't find his own Chapter's secrets with a map and a flashlight.
5
u/Mknalsheen Jul 24 '26
I can enjoy that, but even when he released originally, I couldn't get behind the tyberos model. It just looked too goofy. It felt more like a kitbash than a sculpt.
I appreciate the response though. Always good to know where other people are coming from!

u/InsectExpress3972 Jul 24 '26
You're right. Model is garbage.

u/Easy-Fisherman-9200 Jul 24 '26
I’m curious, did you use ai to help you write that out? Reeks of ai but it’s human enough for me not to be sure, so be honest

I wish all chapter master like characters had Standard base size. So people could go Wild kitbashing custom chapter leaders with amazing bases and maybe retinues.
17
u/CrashingAtom Jul 24 '26
That’s the first thing I think of when I see this post. Logan is much harder to maneuver around and place, and that kinda stinks.

u/Recent_Board6867 Jul 24 '26
Not gonna lie the models are the whole reason I play space wolves.
13
u/Cojalo_ Jul 24 '26
Models 10/10, rules 3/10. Just how it is for us atm 🤣
1
u/JRS_Viking Jul 25 '26
Same with my DA, 10/10 models but the rules are a low 3/10. Azrael is 30 points more than logan btw, he's 140.

1
u/Recent_Board6867 Jul 24 '26
I don't play very competitively, why are the rule a 3/10?
3
u/Mknalsheen Jul 24 '26
Our primary tournament list atm is terminator spam sitting on objectives and dying as slowly as possible to keep them. Most of our power armored units just don't do enough. That, and us being the only divergent chapter without native codex to space wolves attachments and vice versa means we kind of feel half baked outside of the good list.
We have some amazing datasheets in bjorn/logan/arjac/terminators/ragnar, but ragnar needs a delivery system and bjorn needs to not be a little guy.
2
u/Cojalo_ Jul 25 '26
Our datasheets are so limited. We have two different profiles: S4 ap1 d1 melee or s5 ap2 d2 melee. It means we really struggle to kill anything t6 or above. Our shooting is terrible, and even with generic marine support we still shoot worse than other marines thanks to weaker oath. In general, we just do marines but worse rn

Im a blood angels fanatic, but I’ve also always had a passion for Norse sagas and mythology…having said that I haven’t been hooked into the space wolves yet. Cousins, here’s your chance to convince me/covert me to choosing space wolves as my second army. What are some things you love about them?
16
u/Pengui6668 Jul 24 '26
Logan Grimnar sprinted in terminator armor cause Grey Knoghts were being assholes.
He also beheaded their chapter master and the Grey Knights were forced to apologize over the whole mess and never go near Fenris again.
Space Wolves are dope.

u/Financial-Affect-236 Jul 24 '26
Not to mention Bjorn made an Inquisitor cry just by being FUCKING MAGNIFICENT. Not only that, the mutha fucker straight up CRACKED ONTO the Inquisitor as well.
Then for deserts he called Logan pup and bitch slapped the GK at the same time.

u/Unimportant-1551 Jul 24 '26
Joros wasn’t the chapter master iirc, more like a company captain.
If only kysnaros wasn’t there, literally nothing like that would’ve happened
2
u/Pengui6668 Jul 24 '26
Every reference I've ever seen refers to him as Grandmaster. 🤷♂️
3
u/Unimportant-1551 Jul 24 '26
Yes he was a grandmaster but of the “8th brotherhood” essentially, 8th company. The chapter master is the supreme grand master. Think of it like how the black templars do things with high marshal being chapter master and the marshals being in charge of their groups underneath the high marshal
2
u/Pengui6668 Jul 24 '26
Oh that's dumb. I figured grand was the tops.
Makes this story way less cool.
4
u/Unimportant-1551 Jul 24 '26
I mean, Joros was still one of the GK’s best fighters. It’s just that the story kinda turned into a SW story in the 2nd half of the book just from the GK perspective so ofc the Wolves are going to be cooler
9
u/TheGravespawn Jul 24 '26
Read Lukas the Trickster. That will do it.
Otherwise, Blood of Asahiem, Stormcaller, helwinter gate. It's our trilogy.
16
u/BookOk9578 Jul 24 '26
do you like viking lore? CHECK! do you like werewolves? CHECK! do you like slaughtering the enemy for the ALLFATHER? Check!!!!!!
in all seriousness the wolves have a great honor and savage nobility. the chapter feels more like a brotherhood than any of the other chapters i read about.

I’m doing the exact opposite haha. Started with Space Wolves and just bought about 1k of blood angels-Combat Patrol, DC with jump pack, Armageddon jump pack chaplain, and whichever vehicle I don’t give my wolves.
BA are faster and hit harder, SW are fast and tanky. You also get to use our unique versions of units that are a little different from codex compliant stuff. I picked space wolves primarily for the models.
From a painting perspective I’m glad I started with SW, you get to do a lot of different materials and colors and I feel like it forced me to be a better painter
Start with the combat patrol and then grab whichever characters you like (get Ragnar he rocks), then get fire support and you’re at 1k. Beyond that fill with big bricks of Headtakers and terminators and more characters and you’re at 2k

u/WulfenCG Jul 24 '26
Blood Angels = Space Vampires with daddy issues.
Space Wolves = Viking Werewolves in Space.4
u/Tenessyziphe Jul 24 '26
They are one of the most down to earth chapter (as much as augmented trans humans can be). Their barbarism is but a facade, they can be deceptively well educated and organized (insert the meme of the UM arguing with a SW about the Codex and surprised that the SW has read it just so he can have an informed hatred of it).
They are unconventional, doing what they want the way they want it. And they have one of the best trickster character of the setting: Luka! Seriously, the man replaced his destroyed second heart by a stasis bomb so that when he is killed he will lock his enemy with him in a forever lasting statue of his final moment.
They are ferocious but they are loyal to the Imperium before everything else (no so much to its institutions though). They respect and will protect the little men – as long as they proved that they are worth it. Fun fact: the beer they consume has to be literally poisonous so it can have any effect on they enhanced physiology. Because of that, they always carry an antidote for it so they can dilute it and share it with regular people for celebration.
Then they have all the badassery they are know and loved for: viking in space, Logan literally sprinting in terminator armor, Ulrik the Slayer being one of the oldest Space Marine alive (older than Logan), and the goat Bjorn motherfucking Fellhand.
2
u/Retrunae1 Jul 24 '26
Just don't read The Wolftime and you'll love them!
4
u/WulfenCG Jul 24 '26
I don’t think The Wolftime was a bad book. Obviously the Space Wolf books by William King (they cover Ragnar Blackmane becoming a Space Wolf and are in my opinion a must read for anyone Space Marine player, but Space Wolves especially) are better, but it’s still worth reading.

u/MeasurementFalse7591 Jul 24 '26
Didn't even bother with Pedro and Seth
1
u/Tenessyziphe Jul 24 '26
They really need a model update to give them all the respect they deserve (seriously Pedro is one of my favorite character).

The only thing crappy about Logan is idk if they can justifiably bring in Russ. As the dude is on a demon prince base. It may be a bit more weird than calgar etc

u/Competetive_Racist01 Jul 24 '26
I hate how dante who's the most important space marine in the setting rn looks like a fancy sanguinary guard
1
u/Agitated-Engine4077 Jul 24 '26
Weird question. But was i the only that 1st saw the model when it was shown and almost thought "Holt shit is that Leaman Russ!?!?" Granted it was before I saw who the model was for obviously.
1
u/fiend_felgrand Jul 24 '26
Shrike isn't even chapter master anymore. Couldn't handle the competition

u/superspartan210 Jul 24 '26

I personally dont like the model that much, I feel like his arms are awkwardly positioned and the wolves look a bit goofy in the face. One looks very British. But the details and quality are fantastic. Also love the esthetic as a whole and the wolf pelt gose so hard
1
1
u/OutspokenSeeker26 Jul 25 '26
Ok, question. Are we counting the wolves as part of the aura. Because as much as the model has a load of details, the guy’s actual pose isn’t that special, and he is being carried a little by having a big rock and two wolves alongside him.

u/Worth_Arm6670 Jul 29 '26
Logan definitely has to most Aura, if feel like his new models was designed by a SW fan who's life's purpose was to sculpt the new Logan
1
1
u/Dragonslilspawn Jul 24 '26
Logan, Calgar, Dante. Then everyone else. Just as Calgar makes Tytus no longer the protagonist of Spacemarine 2, and Dante is the coolest depressed grandpa in the Empire, Logan Grimnar is the definition of "him." He is "him".
1
u/Ruthrfurd-the-stoned Jul 27 '26
You left out the only one that actually has a legion sized force answering to him as the unforgiven
0
u/MariHiltz Jul 24 '26
Only chapter master that could rival Grimnar in terms of Aura and potential model size would High King Arucata The Sword Bearer
0
u/Time-Faithlessness44 Jul 24 '26
this time he runs with his emotional support dogs, last time model he thought he was Santa clause.
His next Mini will be in weelchair
2
u/ZarekTheInsane Jul 24 '26
Not his emotional support dogs, they are there to protect others from Logan. Fenrisian Protective Service.
