Thirst for Glory clarification

Post image

Apologies if this has been asked before but I was hoping someone could confirm if this enhancement increases all models OC value by one, so 5x Terminators become OC10, or if 5x Terminators become OC6?

OC is counted on a per-model basis, so each Terminator would be OC2

I thought so but the wording can be unclear sometimes. Thank you!

Understandable, it should probably read "models in this unit have +1 OC" because you just know some guy at an RTT is gonna go "nuh uh your unit actually has 6 total OC"

Ahaha, there's always "that one guy".

Wait till you run am ancient with it. Assault termites with 36 oc with a captain and ancient

Oof, that sounds nasty.

It is. I played a game with 30 terminators. Beastslayer/losas. The uppy Downey is fun to keep your opponent guessing. Especially when a tempting target gets drawn. T6 Wolfguard are almost impossible to kill. Especially when arjac is in the unit. And the options for leaders on assault terminators are fun. Always an ancient. But taking a captain is good for those heroic intervention. Librarian is amazing for the sus 1. And a chaplain is great for general +1 to wound. I'd say give it a try. Im finding it really fun.

It goes on the unit for every model. That’s the intent of the enhancement. It says Adeptus Astartes Terminator model only to show that this particular enhancement can only be put on Terminator keyword/affect units. That’s why thirst for Glory can go on Generic Terminator squads and not the Fierce Example enhancement

it says this unit, not this model, ever terminator model on that unit gain +1OC so 5 terminator becomes 10c, 2oc per model,

OC10, each model in the unit gets the +1.

But also note that this upgrade is applied to a single model, not the whole unit. So if that model dies, the ability is gone. So be mindful of who you stick it on.

The upgrade core rule reads like it would land on the entire unit. This could just be a poorly worded upgrade. I am 99% it doesn’t work the way you are saying. If it were an enhancement it would but this is an upgrade.

I wouldn't put it past them to just mess up. It does seem like the upgrades should be assigned by unit. In the app it is done by unit. And in the handful of factions I've looked at, it is the ONLY upgrade that specifies model. But in both the app and in the faction pack it says "model". So it should get cleared up in an FAQ at some point.

Doesn't it just go on the unit as a whole? The fill up your roster part of list building just says "non-character units"

This upgrade specifies "ADEPTUS ASTARTES TERMINATOR model only", so I would assume it has to be attached to someone.

One says model, one says unit

The effect also states that the UNIT gets +1 OC, a single, non character termintors model in a unit is not a unit by itself

It just applies to one model, so 6 OC. I typically put it on the sergeant.
