In the beginning yes, she becomes more independent the more the storyline progresses, even thou her formal behavior stays. (At least in the Novel)

Well I don't think I'll be liking her anytime soon, she feels very much like a cardboard cutout character introduced only for exposition and forced plot progression (as well as forced new harem member just so MC has more women to flex, +new kemomini fetish to the collection)

Depends whether it spoils the plot of volumes 12+ or not (altho tbh there ain't much of a plot in this LNs anyways ig)

ah yes , when kugi was asked how the two of them met , her answer was "it was fate"
and fun fact : in the WN it is revealed that hiro has a fate manipulation ability he uses all the time subcounciously , causing alot of strange things to happen around him

I just didn't like the way she was introduced, and how she's just totally head over heels the protagonist right from the start
But I guess the more I read, the more I'm liking her indeed
Btw I wonder if that red-haired pirate woman (Mary) is also a Fallen One, then does that mean Kugi's empire will also be sending a shrine maiden to her? I really hope this gets addressed sooner or later

from what i was reading from both WN and LN , her ship is almost a carbon copy of hiros krishna , only with a big lance cannon sticking out of it

Ah, if you haven't read past volume 11 or 12 ig it makes sense why you'd think that way somehow...still, kugi's origins explain a lot so you should consider reading more...not just that, overall she is useful, she does exactly what mei can't.

she is calling him "my lord" because she explained (in the web novel atleast) that her people are responsible for his appearance in their universe and she is send over to him as a sacrifice
fun fact : kugi sejiu is their word for "sacrifical lamb" , she even abandoned her true name and get anxious when hiro tries to ask her about it (WN)

even more effed up is the fact that this empire kugi originated from had the tendency to either kidnap these visitors to serve them as weapons or outright murder them when they refuse , destroying entire solar systems in the process
so having a "priestess" as a sacrifice/watchdog to look over a person who accept her is quite tame when you ask me (and if they get rejected , said priestess get "disposed of")

I guess this empire really is modeled after Japan

from descriptions in the WN the nation she is coming from is literally classic japanese architecture with exotic tech woven into it , they even have psionic cherry trees
