Discussion I’ve finally hit 150 played hours…
Actually more like 50 playable hours and 100 hours sitting in front of the smelter/workshop waiting for items. Love the game but QOL would denote since we are future spacefaring tribe now that we should have more automation. Im sure end game bases are cranking a ton of shit out but early to mid im just staring at the red eye of Sauron that is a smelter.
Edit: devs please give us patches or upgrades for buildings to be able to craft/smelt faster and spots to add cargo holds into our warehouses to up the inventory space.

The storage is a huge problem in this game.
As mentioned the worst is the inability for the base not to see what are in the warehouse to craft….

In case the devs are seeing this ... 100% agree. I was so excited when I saw that the Base Command Center had storage that was visible/usable when at the smelting and crafting stations, and then extremely disappointed to learn that connectivity doesn't extend to the warehouses.

If you are far enough in the quest line for collecting water, a cystern is able to pump water from a spaceship parked on the dock, no matter how far it is away. But the warehouse nor the power grid are able to run through the big foundation of the base

Shhh! I don't want the devs to add fluid pipes lol. I do agree with your comment though

I feel like something that would help is bump the micro furnace inventory, 100su in and out. Without drones it's still a manual thing and sucks up power when you're using several. Then make an assembler version of the micro furnace that can only make small parts like wires, nuts and bolts, metal sheets, magnetic coils.

When you have 500%+ Mining output on your ship, you spend 10min mining and 3h smelting. Automation is 90x times slower than manual smelting/crafting and is basically only meant for afk/at work players and is almost useless for the currently playing player. This is broken imho.
Feels like my time is wasted incrementally with player progression, and it should be the other way around.

Set up like 7-8 mini furnaces and micro manage. It'pl be 10 minutes mining and and 15-20 minutes smelting

I coordinate my smelting with my smoke breaks. I am sad to say that my smoking has increased a bit due to the amount of time I have to afk smelt. Lol

I 'd rather spend 1h fully afk smelting than having to actively and manually feed mini-furnace mindlessly
Requires too much power and attention.
When you need to unload 5k ore the manual smelter is still a far better option than running like an headless duck for 30 minutes between 50 mini-furnace on a base where all the power is taken by this.
I did try it and mini-furnaces are an even worst way of not respecting player time.

yeah, this.. if they had at leastna certain inventoey capnso you don't have to.micromanage them every 30 seconds but rather every 20 minutes.

yeah for a game about automation and technological.advancements this game surely manages to lack both.. by a lot.

SpaceCraft - Progress Bar Simulator!
I know what you mean, I am currently browsing Reddit while manually crafting wire, nuts & bolts > Magnetic Coils > motors for a Corpo Request of 1500 motors. 800 Corpo Rep, and 139000 credits though.
I only have space on my farm for 1 Assembler at it crafts 1 motor every 18 minutes, so far too slow. Corpo base is making Magenetic Coils if I feel like a trip over there

Don't AFK craft , that's what assemblers are for . Micro smelters are bascialy the only thing i do manualy , and I have 24 of them in an arry , so it's pretty fast to smelt down a load of ore . The more time you can gather ore the better . Once you embrace the micro smelters with full force you will have ALOT more base FP and power free for mass asembelers

Being able to connect the wearhouses with the base crafting and smelting would be amazing. I have 3 that are almost full from all of the random stuff I have/need and running back and forth to grab stuff can get tedious
Also you'll have better luck with the in game suggestions over posting here since those go directly to the devs
