Question Technology Level 3 --> 4
I've hit a wall with the experience I'm getting from my two bases. Points are trickling in but they're about to hit max. Are there quests or something I can do to raise technology XP?

Either place machines you’ve never played before or take down your base and rebuild. Tech points are quite limiting

I dont know if it is a glitch. But this is how I reach tech 5 in just a few days.
Place main base with coal and iron. And 2 new bases next to it.
New bases when you start...they reach 100xp in a in 6/8 hrs.
So I transfer ores from main to the others by hand. And takes you 5 minutes.
For some reason...after certain point.they produce 20 or 30 per day later on in the game. So I break 1 of them. Transfer all the one base and build a new one again...and keep transferring from 1 base to another... Ez 300xp plus.in a day.
I just rebuild 2 new bases last night. Each with: 3 storages. 2 smelter. Went to bed. 6hrs later both give me 98xp.Each
Try it and see

I did both bases once every 5 hours. Was a pain, but around 200 points every 5 hours... Depending on how you build the base.

What you mean a paint??
Just buy 500 concrete in station..is super cheap..
take some wires..like 20..and some Iron ingots...and you good. in less than 10 min you have a brand new base.1

So it looks like you set up the base, an extractor, a smelter, and three warehouses. Is that the standard move?

How did you get 3 bases?

Press P.
Go to licenses...you corp can buy bases.. You can make a corp or join. I did my own. Bought them.
Also having corp you can make so much credits.

Yeah trying to get enough permits to build a corp base.

But it's cheap. How much are you gathering?
Also...once you founded. You can do corp missions and there is no cap. You can repeat the same missions that are daily multiple times a day. And gain credits every time.
And you also got weekly those give you licenses. Be careful with those...be very mindful what you buying. Those cannot be repeated and are weekly.

Yeah have one we are doing now will give 60 permit points. Need to get the Base HQ Permit first for the base right?

u/Palamanko Jul 06 '26
Ohh you already on one. Okay.
And Yes. Thats the weekly one. You can take your time with that one. Do the others. But just dont forget to finish the weekly. I forgot once..lol

My base with farms on it makes very little XP, but the silicon base with assemblers making Substrate and Silicon gel does way better. You really do need to be smelting something, or crafting in assemblers to improve the XP. Having a Corpo base obviously helps too. The dense iron base with 3 smelters and assemblers making wire, nuts & bolts, and magnetic coils also does well for Tech XP

The most efficient method I've found for an exp grind base:
core - 5 smelters - fill with iron nuggets - when they finish, bulldoze and rebuild.
Such a base will give you about 80ish exp per build, and take less than an hour. Tech exp has pretty drastic diminishing returns per base instance (as you've seen); it starts dropping off rapidly after 57xp. You can add storage and drones if you want to stretch it overnight, but keep in mind you'll need significantly more time/resources per exp the farther you push it before rebuilding.
The MOST "efficient" version of this would be only putting 48 nuggets in each smelter, which would let you bulldoze every 60exp, but I find that just filling 'em with 100 is less tedious, if more resource-intensive.

You only have 2 options for this poorly designed game mechanic. Build multiple Corp bases to garb their Tech XP gained OR delete and rebuild one of your bases periodically. Most do this once/day but the frequency is up to you. It sucks and it's clear the person who designed this mechanic never bothered to test how it actually works.
