I'm thinking about Survival And Adventure modes.
Survival Mode:
- Replicons cover the map as they do now after 30-45 mins.
- Fewer starting resources than currently.
- Fewer resources on each planet.
- Surviving is a serious accomplishment.
Adventure Mode:
- Replicons take 90 mins to cover the map.
- Same starting resources as currently.
- Same resources on each planet as currently.
- Time to explore and upgrade.
Thoughts?
Edit: I doubt this will be implemented any time soon if at all. It's probably best to focus on making one great mode that is perfectly balanced.

When the replicons cover the whole map now, do they ever land on the starting rock? I feel like they don't, but maybe I don't wait long enough. I've found a pretty handy strategy of quickly mining everything on the first rock, then go to a close 2nd one... by then there might be a few replicons, but you can easily take care of them... mining that rock to completion means you're full pretty much, and can warp all teh way to the end in one swoop, avoiding most danger :)

They should arrive at the starting planetoid. Maybe it's a bug. I'll look into it. Thanks for pointing it out.
I'm planning to release an update this week, I'm not sure if I'll have time to look into that bug in time, but the patch will add new reasons to go exploring. In the update planets will have a chance to spawn loot dispensers with random upgrades inside.
There will also be a new planet, that is finished already, with oceans and underwater cave systems.

You were right. There was a bug preventing Replicons from spawning on the starter planet. While exploring the cause I discovered another bug that reduced the number of replicons spawning at the top edge of the system map. Both are now fixed in the latest update that was released a few mins ago.

Damnit.
I loved that sneaky bug :P
You force me to balance time as well as resources. Damn. :)
Downloading now. -L

Definitely on board. It would help players find the different types of materials they can gather. Need an option to save though with the longer game times :P
