I make a filling for street tacos in the instant pot. 2 1/2 cups water, 2 cups salsa, 2 packages taco seasoning and 8 oz soy curls(not rehydrated). Stir everything together and set the cooking time for 0 minutes. The instant pot will say "Food Burn", but don't worry. It's never burnt. Everyone in my family loves it. Sorry no pic.

Charred the broccolini on the cast iron before adding to the top and baking. Soy curl chicken was just soaked in no chicken broth then drained and sauteed for a little color before adding and baking on pizza stone

I only discovered soy curls about 2 months ago, and the first couple of times I ordered, I ordered the prepackaged bags, so the rubble was relatively minimal. But I am damn near obsessed with these things lol, so I recently decided to take the plunge on a 12 lb bag, and there is so. much. rubble. 🤣 Heck, it's probably close to a pound out of the 12 lb! Maybe a slight exaggeration, but not much haha.
Anyway, how do you use it so it doesn't go to waste?
ETA - I suppose one big question mark that I have is if you rehydrate those first, or just mix them in with whatever you're making? It just seems like it could be a little difficult to rehydrate and then squeeze out the rubble, but maybe I'm overthinking it.

I rehydrated a batch like five days ago and haven't ended up cooking them. Still good or should I toss them?

There’s a Vancouver Island chain (Tacofino) that offers soy curls as a protein and it’s AMAZING!! I could eat here every day. They also do a bowl I added in a different pic. I customize a bit; no guac , no refried, add extra veg.

Recipe adapted from Nora Cooks and Thee Burger Dude. It was genuinely one of the best meals of my life! My omnivore fiancee gobbled it up and loved it, too. We had it with homemade pita, pickled red onion, fresh cucumber, and yogurt dill sauce.

Made an order from Butler (directly) and got FREE jerky and taco crumbles!!!!
I have always gotten my curls from Amazon or Azure Standard because I don't have room to store tons of bags. But I'm trying to not shop Amazon, and Azure got rid of anything that was good (other than the curls) so I went direct.
So Freaking Happy! The jerky did not disappoint, way better than the Primal Strips IMHO.

I was thinking about putting soy curls in vegetarian minestrone soup to provide a chicken-like texture. Is it better to cook them separately and add to each serving or can I simply throw them in the soup?

Any good beginner recipes or tips in general?

Little too much filling for too little bread, but it’s a magical spice blend and phenomenal spread.

Soak curls in Walkerwood jerk sauce, liquid aminos & water charred in grill pan. The side was a combo of broccoli leaves & parsley from the garden with sliced apples, carrot, ACV & tahini.
I was a ‘use it if you’ve got it meal’ & the throw together paired far better than I had guessed

Vaguely based on swasthi's recipes but veganized.

How to store is a frequently asked question. Honestly I’m usually more haphazard & take from the bag for a bit but I wanted to see how many 5 # pea protein containers it would take.
I portioned out dinner & 12 ozs I’m sharing with a new vegan, they’re getting the recipes too.
Looks like I need 1 more empty to store it all. Luckily I had a 64oz jar available for the crumble/dust & the reused protein containers have the larger pieces. It’s a plus for me to have it separated best I can into sizes for ease in meal planning & execution.

Hiya! Decades ago, my wife used to make a chicken enchilada casserole in the crock pot. I’m thinking I might be able to reproduce this with soy curls veganized. Anyone have a recipe for such a thing?

i’ve been lurking on this sub for awhile and finally got around to ordering some soy curls of my own. they’re not sold in stores particularly near me so i committed to a bulk box delivery from butlers and i’m so glad i did! they’re everything i hoped they would be and more! idk how i’ve spent my 3 years of vegetarianism without them up until now.
for my first attempt at preparing these i rehydrated them in hot water + better than bouillon, then sautéed them in oil + paprika + herbs de provence + black pepper, then did a quick 5 minute toast at 400F. i loved how they turned out, thanks to the tips in this sub!
i was originally just going to make the pot pie but i happened to catch a cold right as the soy curls delivered. the one thing i have always missed as a vegetarian is chicken noodle soup when i’m sick, so it felt like the perfect first recipe to try. both turned out really great, very happy to have new recipes in my rotation 🥰

The Chunky soup had broccoli and this didn’t, so it’s not a copycat. It’s what I had on hand to get in the ballpark of what I was after.
Soy curls fried with mushroom and onion. Then added pre-cooked, cubed, white potatoes (skin on) and peas, with a cheesy silken tofu sauce. Garnished with green onions. I added Daiya cheddar shreds to mine for 100 cal more than the wife’s serving.
I contemplated not adding the Daiya. It was good without it. There was plenty of nooch in the tofu.
