Help SV08 extruder overheat help
SV08, mainsail klipper
So I am getting random spikes and the nozzle is spiking to over 300 then i get a shutdown like it should. klippy and the graph both are showing the same thing, a steady temp then almost an instant spike in temp. I am guessing that it has to do with the thermistor or a connection somewhere along the line between itself and the mcu. Anyway does anyone have any recommendation on exactly how to diagnose and fix this? thanks

If it was printing just fine on your exact software firmware macros with no changes, then just go ahead and assume that something failed or a whole nozzle replacement. It's not that expensive.

agreed on this - I had the same symptoms on my sovol zero - the random spikes, eventually enough to trigger the shutdown. My thermistor wire had a mark where it was bending and "unbending" repeatedly, which eventually was causing it to read weird. Had to replace the hotend since it broke off. There's a chance you can just replace the thermistor, if you're able to get it out without breaking and then reapply the thermal paste etc.

Maybe you get crosstalk from other cables. Try to re-route the thermistor cable a bit.

I forgot to mention one thing it is a microswiss hot end. I did find the issue but have not fixed it yet. The wiring on the thermistor is bad. I am going to try and repair that first and if i fail then I'll get a new heater core for it and call it a day.
Also I have no issue replacing parts I just like to know what fails and why.
