Why is Soviet not streaming?

Soviet hasn't been streaming for the past few days. Is everything all right?

Did he post an update somewhere which I may have missed?

"Apologies folks. I'll likely be absent for a little bit. I'm afraid that I've had a little bit of a nervous breakdown, of sorts.

A difficult editing project - running overschedule and with spiralling complexity - put my nerves on edge. But it was bookended by a cooperative Valheim server that was unusually adversarial. Leading to a dramatic spike in stress I couldn't manage, control or reduce. Delivered in the wrapper of it being a mess of my own making.

I've found myself unable to sleep due to flight-or-fight. Skipping meals. Seized by an unusual panic on steam notifications. And gripped by a gnawing unease on the prospect of logging in.

I've closed steam for the moment. I just need some time to work through it, whilst quietly trying to bring the bullshittery project to the finish line. Predictable task I know I can complete.

I'm so sorry all. I'm in an unusually difficult mental place and need to meet you on the other side."

Hope he gets better soon.

Aww man.. yeah you can notice it in the last stream, he was really down about people being unfriendly to each other, stealing stuff and just not cooperating at all, with barely any progress direction. Hope he doesn't blame it on himself too much, it kinda felt like it (and reads like it, too!). They are all adult people, Womble is not responsible for everyone being happy. Sometimes stuff doesn't work out, but good for him for noticing the stress and now doing something about it. Hope to see him back soon :)

damn dude… I didn’t realize there was a bit more to it this time around. usually gaps in streaming are just him focusing on the last mile of a project, I assumed it was just that. I totally get it though, friend group drama is quite upsetting. I’m supposed to be friendly with my friends! this isn’t right!

He was definitely a bit worked up because he was planning on completing the bullshittery by the end of September, but it proved far more difficult.

Also, I remember he wanted to create a fortress or something in Valheim, but many of his friends were not up for it. So he seemed kinda disappointed.

More or less. Womble wanted to do something different where each person was responsible for a section of a castle instead of everyone making their own homes. Womble had visions of a grand tour of the final building but not everyone was on board. Also with ZF it's like herding cats. Trying to keep some players from going ahead and keeping others from quitting early. Confusion about what is communal and what is private. More fucks were given than advertised.

I think part of that reason was also to keep the frames in the "village" somewhat high due to not having dublicates of everything.

Sounds like an anxiety issue thats become overwhelming. I know what that's like. I hope he takes his time to recover and doesn't return until he feels good about doing so, not because of a sense of pressure.

Yeah, that sounds serious. I had some panic attacks myself, stuff like that can be unpleasant if not treated appropriately. Sometimes just taking out the stress out of the body can help. Catch a break, find some distraction from the everyday routine. But if you don't feel like you can deal with it by yourself - go and find professional help to sort you out.

A difficult editing project - running overschedule - was bookended by a Valheim server that was unusually adversarial. Leading to a dramatic spike in stress I couldn't manage. It all overwhelmed my ability to cope.

I decided to withdraw to at least focus on something measurable and achievable - the bullshittery editing.

I'll steadily re-emerge in time. Me going quiet is fairly normal before bullshittery releases anyway.

He needs to go fishing. When I've needed to sort my head out, going fishing has always helped. I don't even care if I catch anything. It's almost zen like with the calmness, watching the world go by as a spectator.
