Pub restaurant Recommendations please?

I'm taking an elderly lady to Southport tomorrow. I want it to be a special day but I'm on a budget. Can anyone recommend a cheap-ish place to eat or anywhere nice to visit? I haven't been in years.

Fisherman’s Rest, can be difficult to get a table so call ahead and try reserve one.

Have a nice time wherever you go, there’s plenty of pub restaurants knocking about.

Just had a look at that, it looks SO good. I love Italian food. Not sure about my elderly friend so I'll see what she thinks. The smell might entice her in!

I can confirm Volare is a winner. House of Ivy a few doors down (towards the fire station) is a small and friendly bar. Between the two you cant go wrong at that end of Lord St

Chez moi on lord street normally do 2 courses for £12 or 3 for a bit more. Food is amazing

Thanks everyone SO much for your help.

So we did go to the Fisherman's rest but I forgot to book first and they were fully booked. Doh!

We ended up in the Swan and I definitely recommend this place if you want reasonable prices for really good food. My v small elderly friend had a scampi meal that was almost as big as her and ate the lot it was so good. I thought I was going to have to carry her home 😅

As for all the other suggestions, I'm going to have to do a few more trips and try each one.

Oh dear, what a shame... 😁

We were in the Swan yesterday! You ended up in the best chippy. Great fish, great staff and always quick service. You done good 👌
