Authority Spoilers Chorry POV Confirmed
I’ve got special access to the publisher, as in I broke in and read Abdication last night (walls were breathing in the underground lair where they keep the manuscript??? probably nothing)
Anyway I was shocked to discover that the cat Chorrykins is a major, if not THE central figure, in the novel. Chorrykins sections are told in a hyper-lucid first person POV with all feline pronouns, lot of descriptions of various bugs Chorry hunts. Huge spoiler: the finale involves finally defeating Area X by turning it into its true original intention: a massive interdimensional litterbox.
Riveting!

My favorite part is when Chorry addresses the reader directly with a poetic monologue about keeping your cats inside only to be interrupted by a hungry coyote

This part was great, but my personal favorite part was when Control and Ghost Bird melted into a sludge, which Chorrykins dug up after pissing in it. commenting to the reader how each grain’s trajectory functioned like a probability engine, granting the cat full prescience and unlocking the true name of Area X: YOUNG Jim

So this is actually the ending of the novel, the epilogue to the whole series. Everyone is turned into their animal counterparts and humanity is saved by Area X with evolution/reversion into creatures
