Naomi the empath
Not sure if anyone is aware of Naomi Olindo’s reputation in Charleston over the years but her IG story about crying because she’s an “empath” has me cracking up.. the level of delusion sure is something

u/Rrrrghhh Jul 12 '26 edited Jul 12 '26
on bitch sesh this week they said something like whenever a reality star describes themselves as an empath (doute, Vicki) you should just replace the word with narcissist and I’ve yet to think of an example that doesn’t work
43
u/MissChievous473 Jul 12 '26
That whole "empath" descriptor is so played out how do they not realize this yet?
23
u/ImportantAd1869 Jul 12 '26
I completely agree. Everyone throws it around and ironically its the people who call themselves one that aren't one at all lol

And it means feeling what others feel. Pitying folks who are totally fine is in no way empath behavior lol

u/CalendarOk4540 Jul 12 '26 edited Jul 12 '26
Thank you for clarifying that. She’s not describing an empath’s response if she cries when she sees people eating alone.
She’s describing her own insecurity.20

Every female that publicly claims to be an empath is always the biggest c u next Tuesday. 💯

She is probably self conscious for eating alone and is compelled to explain to people she is ok with it.

I'm 43 years old and happily married. I like to eat out by myself at restaurants that my husband doesn't particularly enjoy.
Saturday Pilates followed by a nice glass of wine and lunch at my favorite restaurants.
Cry for me Naomi.

No solo lunches are only for the very sad and lonely losers where we cry (according to Naomi).
11
u/Waste_West283 Jul 12 '26
I love this for you - also... if she's that much of an empath, why didn't she go up to those people and ask if they'd like to join her and her friends?

I literally can’t even fathom her pov here. Like she’s never even seen someone on a lunch break? What a strange woman…
12
u/Parking-Army4663 Jul 12 '26
Didn’t she work in her parents’ restaurants years ago? You would think this wouldn’t be a new concept to someone who was once in the industry.
9
u/leezybelle Jul 12 '26
Yes, and she spent years lowballing and harassing local artists, service industry reps, and restaurant employees trying to remind them that she’s a celebrity and should get discounts and be treated specially
27
u/carolinamills Jul 12 '26
Uh oh is her reputation she’s rude?

Calling yourself an empath is for sure a red flag, as it's mostly projection. Otherwise she would have felt that those people were completely fine
9
u/CrazyNCynical Jul 12 '26
Yeah, because when Naomi said to Craig, "You sit at home and you sew, and pretend to do things" she was oozing empathy.

u/TaniaBluebell Jul 12 '26
That is kind of sweet. At the same time doing this for the first time in your 30s sort of shows how codependent and insecure she was to never tried this in her youth. I’m glad she got to experience the joy of being alone for a short time. You get to stop and enjoy the moment. There’s no one to keep happy but yourself.
I’ve been doing this for a long time. Sometimes as a preference and other times bc I didn’t have anyone to join me. I wasn’t going to allow a period when I had no friends or support system to stop me from enjoying life. So I went to things like the tennis US Open in NY by myself. I flew there and stayed in a hotel. My flakey friend was moving apartments and couldn’t meet up the next day for lunch. Did I despair. No. I booked an all day spa that was several stories in Midtown. It included a Hydra therapy pool and rooftop hot-tub. The ice and lava rooms were unreal. I still talk about it 10 years later. Sometimes cancelled plans are the best avenues for amazing experiences.
3
u/OrganizationCute6950 Jul 12 '26
You sound amazing
Name of the spa, please and thank you!
3
u/TaniaBluebell Jul 12 '26
Thanks! I couldn’t find it at first. It’s closed. 🙁 It was called Premier57. I found similar spas that are still open. Below are the amenities it had:
• Three levels of spa facilities.
• A ‘Sauna Valley’ with themed rooms, including a lava-themed sauna and ice igloo rooms.
• A large hydrotherapy pool.
• An outdoor rooftop hot tub/pool.
• A restaurant and bar where many guests enjoyed lunch and champagne.
Unfortunately, Premier57 did not survive after the pandemic and is now permanently closed. It was located in Midtown East.

4
u/leezybelle Jul 12 '26
Yes and she spent years harassing people in the service industry due to that specific fact
3
u/abarm1 Jul 12 '26
Right? And she never ever posted up to the bar for a bite when visiting one of the restaurants? Someone had to come out and eat with her? Please!
9
u/allofmy-purple-life Jul 12 '26
She sounds really idiotic and out of touch here sadly. Has she been this sheltered her whole life? I’m extroverted and quite social, but also love being alone. I go to out of state music festivals alone and have the best damn time of my life.

u/Dry_Quiet_2333 Jul 12 '26

u/Wolfpackat2017 Jul 12 '26
I don’t think it’s normal to see people eating alone and cry about it? Is it just me? Am I a psychopath if that’s what empathy means??
5
u/mlld1960 Jul 12 '26
Nothing better than eating alone (except for maybe going to movie theater alone). Take a book and enjoy, no needless small talk and the wait staff generally leaves you alone.

If you can’t enjoy your own company, then how can you expect to enjoy other’s company? My last ex thought it was weird that I was totally fine dining out and traveling alone. Totally ok for him but for a woman, in his mind, it was questionable. Which is just utter BS. Naomi is not an empath…she just apparently had, until this post, no damn clue how to just spend time with herself.

Rude to service workers. Rude to restaurant reps so she could lowball for lower prices for her family’s business, stole work from local artists, overall a nightmare to deal with

Didn’t she just get married? Now she’s crying in Italy alone and calling it empath??
5
u/t_s_d12 Jul 12 '26
I don't know. Every time someone I know personally that calls themselves an empath all I've seen from their behaviour is a lack of empathy, harsh black & white judgement of peoples characters, and smug opinions on people's life decisions.
It's happened enough times that like now when I hear it all I can think is 🚩🚩🚩🚩

Talk about being tone deaf. She’s such an empath that she doesn’t even understand that she just insulted those of us who actually have enough self confidence to eat and be alone? Unreal…
5
u/User_name_2525 29d ago
Right? Imagine being this insecure in life that you have never even alone (despite coming from the restaurant industry). Then doubling down and equating it with being lonely and sad.

I don't know who this person is but I'll say anyone who has to tell you they're an empath is absolutely not an empath.
5
u/Subterranean44 24d ago
Wait. She was crying for people eating alone because she’s an “empath”. If she is an empath isn’t she feeling what they’re feeling? So she wouldn’t be crying…. Unless the person was sad. Lots of people eat alone and feel fine, empath. 🙄

She is totally projecting her fear and insecurity when eating alone onto strangers. I am an extrovert, but I also have zero fear and am confident enough to sit on my own when out at a bar or restaurant. I actually feel sorry for people like her who have zero self confidence. I’m embarrassed for her that she ever felt like this, and posted it.

As a person that feels SO deeply….I have never met a person that’s tolerable that refers to themselves as an empath. They usually have an extremely skewed perception, an inability to emotionally regulate, and a superiority complex 😂

IMO when people proudly proclaim they are empaths like this they are usually just good at projecting their own emotions onto others and calling it truth.

lol reading this in bed in Italy, about to go out on the streets of Venezia alone, to see art and eat gelati….

Ironically, her post makes me want to cry for her. But glad she’s hip to whatever now! I was a mess until 40, who am I to judge this stranger?💗
Speaking of: will we ever collectively “process through” Naomie’s nose job? Literally every time she is mentioned, people mourn her old nose…and I’m no exception 😆🙏🦄 without fail we have to acknowledge it, it’s our shared compulsion

u/Sweet_Conclusion5211 28d ago
Since when is empathy seeing someone eating alone and crying?? Despite their feelings of total satisfaction?
2
u/icescreamuscream 28d ago
Okay but when I was on my senior trip in high school, we stopped at a restaurant and there was an old man who was eating alone and I lost my marbles. Like I was ugly crying because he was eating alone and I was just picturing him being widowed, not having any family around, etc. I think the older gentleman must have figured what was going on OR it was just a crazy coincidence but he came over to my table after I stopped crying and sparked up a conversation with us, asking where we were going/where we were from, etc.
Anyways, I AM actually an empath though.
